North Korea test-fired a ballistic missile early on Saturday from a region north of its capital, Pyongyang, Yonhap news agency reported citing South Korea’s military.
There were no immediate details about the missile or its flight, Yonhap said.

(Yonhap) — North Korea launched a ballistic missile on Saturday from an area north of Pyongyang, South Korea’s military said.
“North Korea fired an unidentified missile from a site in the vicinity of Bukchang in Pyeongannam-do (South Pyeongan Province) early this morning,” the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said in a statement.
The JSC is analyzing the type and flight distance of the projectile.
Well, I wish they hadn’t gone and done that.
Things get messy now, and people will die.
"North Korea fired an unidentified missile from a site in the vicinity of Bukchang in Pyeongannam-do (South Pyeongan Province) in the northeastern direction at around 5:30 a.m today," the Joint Chiefs of Staff said in a statement. "It is estimated to have failed."

That’s a good point. It could have been a failed attack, with the NORKs not following through in the event it failed.
And we don’t know where it was aimed, the range, etc..
It is amusing that all of North Korea’s apocalyptic fantasy videos depicting the destruction of the US, use stock images of mushroom clouds created by US nuclear bombs.
“This is where we have got when we have two bellicose, belligerent leaders, both ratcheting up the rhetoric. I believe Japan, South Korea and the allies have to stand up strong. We have to bring Kim Jong-un to the negotiating table, not to his knees."
