Rex Tillerson makes his first trip to the UN to chair a Security Council meeting on North Korea. The US chairs the Security Council for the month of April. Other nations sending foreign ministers to the meeting are Britain, China, Japan, and South Korea. U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will brief the council during the meeting.
Live coverage on CSPAN 3 as well as live stream from the UN website.

Yep...Once I get use to using ‘Opera’ I’ll do better. I can’t figure out how to keep the tabs from doubling on top of each other, thus making it impossible to jump between tabs using the same browser. I use to just miminmize and go on...but in opera they “follow” each other and pile up.
You did a fine job. Heck you always do!
Well lets just say it was no fun fighting with my the browser trying to get it done! LOLOL
The general rule at the UN is most issues are handled by UN Ambassadors. When an issue becomes more urgent or dire, nations send higher level officials like the Secretary of State.
In this hearing I counted 17 speakers. Nations sent 3 different levels of diplomats to the meeting:
The UN Secretary General
8 Foreign Ministers (including Rex Tillerson)
3 Deputy Foreign Ministers
5 Ambassadors
Good timing for this meeting since NK just fired another missile.
All 15 nations on the Security Council had a speaker, plus South Korea. North Korea didn’t even bother to have a speaker defend themselves in the hearing.
I know the feeling. I use this firefox because it has ghostery, but some times it doesn’t let me go to some sites so I have to use Explorer.
It happens every so often. Cannot get to Drudge, or other sites I get news from until afternoon. I gave up trying to figure out why.
Opera won’t let me get to them either, only Explorer and sometimes it won’t. Damm Russians!!! LOL!
Thanks for your imput.....
I love his understated, very serious demeanor. No fooling around. No personal aggrandizement. God bless’im.
Thanks for the link to the UN meeting.
FireFox is so heavy it takes forever to load anything..starts out ok then resorts to dragging on everything...and Explorer isn’t working on Vista... my computer. I even tried to download it and it gets blocked.
Wish I understood the dynamics of computer better...often fees like I’m shooting in the dark now with Microsoft and FireFox and Internet Explorer kicking me to the curb!
Opra’s at least working...for now but not without issues.
Yep!...was a good listen I thought. I really wanted to hear how the Security Council would chime in on N.Korea. ...not how the news reported it. Anymore you cannot go by what the pundits say as it’s all about weaving their own story...
Just to put that in context...here is Obambi and entourage meeting with the Russians at the UN
