WHILE ALL THIS IS GOING ON SEND CALLS, LETTERS, E-MAILS, particularly to those of both parties where Trump won in 16.

This is NOT over. Soldier-on bros!

I’m with you, but I believe Trump has already crumbled on this one. Am I wrong?

This is simply not the right vehicle for doing this in the Continuing Resolution. There’s plenty of ways to get this done without handing the Dems a propaganda win this week. It’s just a few billion dollars, do it in the regular order budget, and then let the Dems vote it down. The wall is popular and makes sense. But shutting down the government over it is bad politics.

Mick Mulvaney sure looks like a man who is out of the loop though.

So the budget has no wall funding, and he’s going to sign it?

Sean Spicer at today’s presser said funding would be FY18, which means no wall this year.

They could have easily done a supplemental, or taken reprogramming action using expiring funds were it not for the spineless RINOs.

So we have a funding bill that is completely defunding about 20 agencies and we are ready to declare defeat because we didn't get 100% of what we wanted?

Think incrementally, take what they give us and at worst there's next year's budget. It would not surprise me if Trump never intended to get congressional money in the first place. He said as much in the campaign.

The Wall was immediately built in the Universe
that repealed ObamaCARE — after Pres. Trump’s election.

But it was NOT this Universe.

Here Ryan blocks everything, while McCain uses
the the IRS to attack conservatives.

Oh please.

The same forces against the border wall now will be the same ones
against it in the future.

So it is either shut the government down now or shut the government
down later.

Trump has been jerked around enough by congress already.
He had better toughen up or his support will begin to drop.

The people are kind of bored with grandstanding government “shutdown” (keeping in mind that on average only about 10% of the government actually gets shutdown). Forcing a shutdown won’t help Trump at all. Also keep in mind that most of the government these days is on automatic budgets, that’s how we went like 4 years without even having a budget, so there is no “running out of money” section to this. And they can override the veto.

There will be no wall budget this year. They might still fight over it for weeks, but the end result has been decided.

Ugh, we didn't get Hillary and we did get Gorsuch. So far, that appears to be the winners. We got EO's that District judges stopped and - so far - we crumbled over. Obamacare is alive and well. And there will be no 'Wall' since everything Congress delays is always denied. So, just watch the big announcement on taxes that will never happened.

Fact is, I see a lot of executive signings but the stuff that really matters just fades before the finish line.

Make them do it. Does Trump want to keep his support and go down fighting or does he just want to get the same old label the rest of the pubbies got. If his support turns on him then everyone will be laughing at him.

I think you are. I was a Trump skeptic, but by holding his fire on his signature policy, he looks reasonable and cooperative. He has several sets congressional sets of opponents, ALL the Democrats, a handful of Republicans who will openly oppose him at will (McCain, Graham, Collins) and quiet opponents who don't want their fingerprints on overt opposition.

WHEN the Congress fails again, then he lowers the boom. He will have allies in Congress (Cruz [politics makes strange bedfellows] in the Senate, and a handful of Freedom Caucers in the House). Talk radio and social media will be activated, and the lilly livered play ball. If the Dems block it in the Senate, then he has to play it differently, but the closer it gets to elections 2018 the stronger his nad gets. IT DOES NOT MATTER what your approval numbers are in the first or even early second year of your presidency, ask George Herbert Walker Bush about that! Bannon and Conway know the score well. Pence has prudence. I don't see the Kushners breaking TRump on this, but he will continue to keeop himself in a position to negotiate.

The 2018 fiscal year runs from 10/01/2017 to 9/30/2018 it could start at the end of the year. But it could and should have been done. The problem is not the Dems, it’s the Chamber of Commerce Pubs, starting with Paul Ryan who really don’t want to end the cheap labor express. The wall was Trump’s #1 issue. If he doesn’t get that, on top of not repealing Obamacare, he can kiss the rest of his agenda goodbye. It will be death by a thousand cuts.

The Congress will have to be tamed. Gorsuch and the nominees are a good starter. The filibuster for SCOTUS is gone. Full breaking a wild horse (even a meek, mild one) takes time.

Ah, here she is. I knew you’d show up.

You do know that Fiscal Years start in July, right? And that September is the outside anyone expects a debate on the FY18 budget to last?
