BREAKING NEWS: French Far-right Presidential Candidate Marine Le Pen Steps Down as Head of National Front in Bid to Woo Moderate Voters
o The Front National leader quit as she made it to the second round of voting
o She will face off against centrist Emmanuel Macron in the final vote on May 7
o President Hollande told voters Le Pen would ruin the economy if she is elected
French far-right presidential hopeful Marine Le Pen has announced that she is temporarily stepping down as her party's leader.
The Front National leader revealed she would be quitting her role in her party to focus on the upcoming Presidential election.
Monday's move appears to be a way for Le Pen to embrace a wide range of potential voters ahead of the May 7 runoff between herself and Emmanuel Macron, the independent centrist who came in first in Sunday's first round.

I hope she wins because it would likely mean the end of the EU. But no one should be fooled that she is Right wing as we understand it.
Here are a couple of points to consider:
1. Macron means what he says in about the same was as Jeb! did.
2. France can survive bad national economic policy longer than it can the continued Muslim invasion and EU policies
Le Pen is “far right” in European terms because she rejects the EU project, globalism, and multiculturalism (and especially Islam. In sum, she is a nationalist. In Europe, that gets you smeared as “far right” because it threatens the special interests that support those things. Macron talks about tinkering with the pathologies of the French economy, but he is more sympathetic to the things Le Pen opposes. The transnational left knows that his economic initiatives would come to little or nothing, but his support of their interests is what matters.
You see, achilles, the problem is that I DO BELIEVE Le Pen means what she says about economic issues. That’s why I call her a socialist. A national socialist, as you point out, but a socialist nevertheless.
LOL
Good call...
You may be right.
Seems I remember a certain candidate rated by most people to be at 90% just before November the 8th last year.
Why Republicans were crafting their stances on the sure victory, and trashing the opponent for all they were worth.
I’m not an expert on the French or their elections. You may be much more in tune with what will happen.
I’m sitting here amused by what has taken place so far.
The young child that broke up an existing marriage with three children in it, to marry the woman a quarter of a century old than him, wouldn’t be getting my vote.
LOL Maybe..., just maybe...
It works, but I did drop a word by accident.
I corrected it in the next post.
Thanks BTW...
“:^)
Thanks for the primer on La Pen.
At least she seems enough of a nationalist to protect her nation from destruction.
I don’t care for Europe. It’s far to socialist for me. That being said, so is our nation.
Hopefully it will be less so in four and even less in eight years.
Oh good...Ms LePen need to win. No, she’s NEA conservative, but she knows France needs to fight for their future. If a Tea Party group started in France, the drive by would call it ultra ultra right...
Thanks. I’m learning more each day. LOL
I want her to win also. You’re right that she wants to defend France, and that’s more than you can say for the others.
“But you keep on thinking she’s a right winger.”
As I wrote before, I agree that shes not conservative on most issues (although I dont see being in favor of arts and crafts as inherently left-wing and her position on trade is not all that different from Trumps). However, she is conservative on the most pressing issues for the survival of France: national sovereignty, independence, and self-determination for the French people combined with a desire to stop mass immigration from groups with radically different values and a tendency towards religious violence and oppression.
Her desire to conserve the French nation and culture is very conservative. On these issues among some others, Macron is hard left. Economic concerns are not always the most important ones. Even if the government is scaled back a bit, that wont really matter if nuclear France is majority Muslim in 25 years (especially considering the growing radicalization taking place now). One only has to look at Algeria to know that.
How can you ruin a GDP of .4%? You would have to try hard...France needs a Ronald Reagan conservative to fix it. I feel sorry for the French, they helped us defeat the British. If any relatives of Rochambeau is reading this...Merci...Your relative was great!
NEA should be not a ... Dumb fingers + smart phone = mistakes in replies by ConservaTeen... :-)
its a great combo, a fighting good looking heroine!
Oui!!!!
You just have to learn how the French think. Much of what they do appears backwards to us.
For example, a good American uses a rifle to kill the enemy and win the war.
A good Frenchman keeps his rifle in absolute perfect working order by never firing it and using a large white cloth tied to the barrel top to check the wind direction in the face of the enemy, thus winning the war by getting the enemy to stop firing.
Then stop commenting and making yourself look stupid.’LOL’
I see you’re a bit of a newbie with a hostile personality disorder. And you’re in no position to tell anyone to shut up.
Make France Mediocre Again!!!

I appreciate that and second it. #MFMA
