At least global warming may get Americans off the couch more

WASHINGTON (AP) — Global warming's milder winters will likely nudge Americans off the couch more in the future, a rare, small benefit of climate change, a new study finds.

With less chilly winters, Americans will be more likely to get outdoors, increasing their physical activity by as much as 2.5 percent by the end of the century, according to a new study in Monday's edition of the journal Nature Human Behaviour . Places like North Dakota, Minnesota and Maine are likely to see the most dramatic increases, usually the result of more walking.

"It's a small little tiny silver lining amid a series of very bad, very unfortunate events that are likely to occur," said study lead author Nick Obradovich , who studies the social impacts of climate change at both Harvard's Kennedy School of Government and MIT. Global warming "almost certainly will be very costly on net for humanity."

If the alleged warming will increase walking, wouldn’t it also reduce the need for fossil fuel for heating homes in Winter? What about that benefit? Seems more important than increased walking.

Woman on the right appears to suffer from a rare case of “butt reversal” where the backside is on the frontside.

But the summers will be sooooooo hot that people will burst into flames!

Almost 25% of Northern Hemisphere land, because of permafrost conditions, cannot be used for either cropland or forestry. Just a modest increase in temperature would increase the number of frost-free days in Greenland, the Laurentian Shield and Hudson Bay areas of Canada, interior Alaska --- plus huge swathes of Russia Siberia.

This would result in a bonanza of plant growth, the opening up of vast new resources, and an entirely favorable new pattern of demographic redistribution.

I'm going to go right out and turn my compost pile, releasing robust amounts of water vapor, methane and carbon dioxide.

Doing my part for a greener Earth.

A newspaper that can only get the 3 day forecast right 55% of the time tells us we will get off the couch 2.5 percent more in 83 years.

A slow news Monday.

I spent four bleak winters in Maine and believe me, a couple degree difference in temperature would not have gotten me to "do more walking."

"Milder Winters"! Snow fell in Saudi Arabia this past winter. Three people froze to death in Morocco this past winter. THERE IS NO GLOBAL WARMING. All the pushers of this lie live in cities and have lost touch with nature and with reality.

Go enjoy the "mild winters". You will end up a frozen popsicle. The Global Warming stats are as reliable as the polls showing Hillary's winning the 2016 election...oh, yeah, that didn't happen.

If the CO2 concentration goes down and is displaced by Oxygen, insects will get larger and plants will suffer.

Yeah, to grab another cold beer...and bump the thermostat down on the A/C on the way back to the couch.

Instead of 6 feet of snow on the ground, there would only be 5 feet 9 inches of snow on the ground.

Brought to you be the same brainiacs who also said the California drought would last forever. And the same people who have claimed repeatedly that “climate change” causes more “extreme” weather events despite the fact that number of just about every type of “extreme” weather event has been down.

Historically the only credible correlation between the level of CO2 in the atmosphere and warming is that warming precedes a rise in the level of CO2. Warming causes a rise in CO2 not the other way around. But try to explain that to someone indoctrinated by our public school system and the media...

Oh Oh! Someone forgot to put on her "Gut-B-Gon" that morning!

She's "ambi-butt-furcated".

No matter which direction she waddles she's leading from behind.

Not sure what someone reporting in Houston or for that matter NY-CA know about living in MN.

There is a reason your average MN is on the LARGE side.
Something to do with the crappy weather 6 months of the year.

and yes, I know what MN is like

...but more walking burns calories which, in turn, requires inhaling more oxygen and the exhaling of more CO2!!!!!

We’re all gonna die!!!

To your point about burning less fossil fuels in the winter, I’ll assume you’re a supporter of vegetation genocide via starvation!!!
You want to deprive them of what they need!!! You evil you!!!

lol ;p

Has there EVER been a “we’re all gonna die” prediction that has been correct?
