She had already (allegedly) been hit with the stroller by the time the video is rolling.
>>I watched the video and something’s wrong. First, people always have to check a stroller when boarding a plane. Why she thought she could demand to keep the stroller makes no sense to me. Second, why is she so upset about not having the stroller? It’s not like she’s going to go on a long walk. I have absolutely no reason to say this, other than the degree to which she’s upset, but I wonder if she’s a mule and there are drugs stashed in the stroller. (She’s traveling to South America...Venezuela I think.)<<
Yes I saw it too and noted the same. I have no idea why the woman was crying and I am AMAZED the macho-man clearly drunk passenger wasn’t tossed off the plane. Physically threatening an FA is usually automatic removal, frequently by cops.
The whole incident is truly strange.
You certainly got more out of that video than was actually shown. Where did you get your information from? Who said the altercation was over her wanting to keep the stroller? If that was the case, it probably folded up and would have been put in the overhead bin so she could get it down and handle the baby with the bags accompanying it on leaving the plane. Mothers are adept at thinking and planning ahead - well, make that “women” have that talent. It apparently wasn’t a problem at check in.
I was more amazed at the tub of lard passing for a flight attendant and can’t say the one or two female attendants who also appeared weren’t what I picture as flight attendants. What’s their pay scale? $2.15 an hour?
And the officer standing in the aisle - obviously from the cockpit but he just stands and watches the whole thing like a passerby without calming it down? Captain, or First Officer or Flight Engineer - totally useless.
A female flight attendant had given her permission to look for a storage space as it folds up small, but said she would have to check it in if there was no room.'She was looking for space when the male attendant tried to take it away from her... and she said she told him the other attendant had told her it was okay to look,' Morgan said.
'Hit me!' The shocking moment an American Airlines flight attendant challenges a passenger to a....
Wrong. There are strollers that are small. They are made specifically to be stowed in the overhead bin. She was told it could be brought aboard.
Even if you were correct - which you are not - do you think it was appropriate for the FA to hit her in the head while she was holding her twins?
American is supporting the woman and is flying her first class.
A witness behind the woman said that a female flight attendant told her to bring the stroller on as it could be folded up and placed in the bin. The woman was doing that when the male attendant grabbed the stroller out of her hands and allegedly hit her.
I agree that strollers are to be checked as luggage but if she is a first time flyer she may not have known this. Irregardless how did she get it past the checkin attendant and the greeting attendant at the plane’s door? Sounds like a string of failures on AA’s part climaxed with atrocious customer relations skills to rectify the situation.
Some strollers fold up and fit in the overheads; sometimes the airline collects them and puts them in baggage last so the parents can get them when deplaning. As far as long walks go, where do you fly? County airports? I have to walk a mile I think to get to baggage.
