THE LESTER YOUNG TRIO: “THE MAN I LOVE”

One of the greatest sax players of all time tackled this song in 1946 with a small jazz club arrangement. Here he’s supported by legends Nat King Cole and Buddy Rich. This is a historic recording. You can hear just what Nat could do on the piano before he made his reputation as a singer. Buddy Rich and Gene Krupa pretty much wrote the book on jazz drumming.
