The most competitive special Congressional election yet has arrived, and we will be providing returns live tonight right here. In addition to our district-wide totals, we will be analyzing county and precinct level returns. For the Democrats, the hope is that Jon Ossoff can pull out an outright win tonight- if he gets over 50% of the vote in this crowded field, hes in as the districts new Representative in Congress. If he falls short, then he will face off against one of four likely Republican opponents in a runoff on June 20th: Karen Handel, Bob Gray, Judson Hill, or Dan Moody. Polls close at 7pm and we anticipate at least early vote tallies to begin rolling in shortly thereafter. Refresh this page for the latest results tonight out of Georgia.
One hopes they've come around based on his performance since his inauguration.
Yes.
There bound to be more than 130,000 registered voters in the district. Maybe that is the turnout expected. Most districts have some 600,000 residents; how many voters would that be, 350,000 or so?

However, note that these are DeKalb’s *in-person* absentees, which are likelier to favor Ossoff than mail-in absentees.”

Not a bad one.
Pretty sure this section is.
ugh
Carity Elections has the number of registered voters in the district as 445,095. I think that number is from the GA SOS office.
326,000 voted last Nov for top 2 Congress candidates Price & the Dem

Handel looks really weak in the early numbers, even unelectable if this is the start of a trend.
The Election Night Reporting Site says there are 459,000 registere voters — and i assume that is for entire district.
My number is not exact but close.
nope — pretty solid pubbie
If O wins....the media will be running with it for weeks....and the demorats will suddenly have a jolt of oxygen in their last days.
That number (445,095) is from this link:

Yeah you nailed it. This idiot is a flash-in-the-pan media creation.
445,095 registered voters is correct number.
Nate Cohn at the NYT is projecting Ossoff at 61% of the in-person vote based on DeKalb early in-person 71% for Ossoff.
If so, it was a mistake the way the Republican candidates entered this race in such large numbers with most having no real chance from the start.
AJC: “north DeKalb accounts for the most Democratic-leaning part of the district. Its where Ossoff grew up, and its also where hell be looking to rack up votes”
That wasn’t a mistake. It was intended.
