gender dysphoria
thanks, I knew there was a clinical term but I forgot it
no one is born with gender dysphoria, no matter how young it first manifests in a child
the “trigger” is likely not a single thing, nor the same set of things with every child, but something in nurture & the child’s response, in their mind, has triggered it, developing an obsession against their physical identity
it should be treated as a mental health PROBLEM, not as “normal” development to be accepted and entertained
yes, with a deep obsession, happiness can seem most likely being “accepting of it” and wanting to live out what it means
no matter, I don’t think the mental conflict (the mind knows its lying about what it also knows about the physical identity) never ends
Gender Fluid. Is that what goes in a car engine disgrommifier?
LOL, when I was a kid, I thought getting silly putty in a stocking at Christmas was really cool...glad it wasn’t a tool to cut off my privates!
I think we are probably eventually going to look back at the advent of instant portable internet access and social media as being simply a disaster for society and culture, especially for younger girls. Maybe there will be some sort of backlash and turning away from it, but I have a hard time imagining that at least on any big scale.

So we’ve normalized mental illness and now it is spreading. Great!
You bet there is a stress component to all this...it comes from hand-wringing (chronological) adults allowing for the "identification" to take place in a vacuum. Rather than to encourage normalization based on their biological sex, we're abdicating our societal role by avoiding, rather than affirming their sex. The choice has been made for us; we only have to acknowledge it and move on.
Alas, Brave New Babylon.

In hundreds of years of history, there has been a period of time in kids lives where they see more positives in the opposite sexes lives. For hundreds of years, the desire to mutilate your body for it was almost non existent. If you eliminate those folks who think they are homosexual, the numbers change dramatically.
Parenting teens is tough and requires a real series of discussion in how dangerous this lifestyle is. The abuse from sexual predators, the immense health risks in the epigenesis of bathing your genes in the wrong hormones and the very high risk of contracting diseases that were almost unheard of 5 years ago.
This is a form of teenage rebellion against truth. It is, unfortunately, one that carries a vey high price and it is the parents responsibility to protect them from that.
From the 1960 cartoon Tutor the Turtle who always wanted to be something he was not. Mr Wizard would tell him ‘ be what you is not what you are not, those who are is has the happiest lot. ‘
My favorite line from that cartoon was when, in every episode, Tutor would say, "Help me, Mr. Wizard ... I don't want to be a ________ anymore."
I use that around work quite a bit when I'm feeling particularly frustrated ... every year, fewer and fewer people know what I'm talking about.
You can’t fix stupid.
They should divide the Olympic along these lines. Rather than men and women.
At least you know it’s going, and can plan for it. I had a bad casting let go with absolutely no warning. Of course, that $3K would be $6K today!
I had always been a proponent of technology, especially technology you could carry in your pocket to give you a GPS, camera, calculator, internet access, music, etc.
I did not see the destructive nature of it, I didn’t realize it would go off the rails like this.
I find it both creepy and destructive. Pandora’s Box, for sure.
LOL, I use that one too!
What did he say after that? “”Twizzle, Twazzle, Twozzle, Twome; time for this one to come home.”
Heh, we use that one on occasion too!
P.S.: I hate you for making me look this up.
P.P.S.: Wikipedia actually has an article on this, and "cisgender".
Big time LOL! Or how about a "stuck push rod"? A "blown head"? Then there's always the fatal "frozen rear end". Makes me wonder what to call the male and female ends of any connector. What do I call the male end of my HDMI cable and the female HDMI input on my TV? How about the Outty and the Inny? Pfft, read my tagline.
I didn’t see it either. We sure didn’t develop with this social media stuff. One part of the problem is when people with some problems make contact en masse, which before social media wasn’t possible, it seems to push at least some of them farther into their problems. Seems like the benefits don’t make up for the problems.

That study will be considered by many to be politically incorrect.
