House GOP to File Criminal Charges Against Lois Lerner in IRS Scandal

Rep. Peter Roskam (R-IL) went on with Stewart Varney on Thursday morning to discuss recent developments on Capitol Hill.
Roskam told Stewart House Republicans are planning of filing criminal charges against Lois Lerner.
Rep. Roskam: The Obama Administration was very lenient with the crimes that Lois Lerner committed. And those are strong words that I’m using but the House Ways and Means Committee voted out a criminal referral to the Department of Justice which was completely dismissed by the Department of Justice… We think that Lois Lerner did two things wrong. Number one, she denied people due process and equal protection of the law based on their political philosophy. We’re convinced that there is overwhelming evidence to suggest that that’s true. And that’s a felony. Secondly, we suspect that she lied to the Inspecter General of the Treasury Department.

If you put heat on the soldiers, they give up the capos,. Heat on the capos can get you the godfather. I remember how watergate went slowly from the burglars to the oval office. And if Lerner wants to keep her mouth shut, then give her the maximum sentence.

Hopefully it a start to a long line of indictments. Draining the swamp will be neither quick nor comfortable. But the corruption and being “Above the Law” run so deep, I doubt most can even fathom the depth of the corruption in our government. This administration offers a glimmer of hope, but make no mistake about it; this task is monumental in its scope.

In another article posted on FR today, she’s asking the judge to keep her deposition closed so the public can’t see it. Won’t she just take the 5th again?

A criminal referral to DOJ is not the same as the House filing charges.
The title is misleading.

You’re a libertarian, and you think Congress ought to be filing criminal charges?
What’s wrong with you?

I believe criminal changes would be warranted. I am not a libertarian. You should read both words in my name. I am various philosophies because I don’t follow the libertarians 100%.
The congress has been impotent on the crimes committed by the Obama administration. So I welcome any action for criminals to be brought to justice.
Are you of the impression libertarians don’t believe crime committed by politicians should be punished? If so, you are badly mistaken.

Isn’t there something in the Constitution about No Bills of Attainder?
Sorry, Congress cannot “file criminal charges” against someone.

NOTE: At least 88 IRS agents were involved in the targeting scandal As tough as this may be: Give her immunity in exchange for testimony against those 88 as well as against Koskinen (sp?) and anyone at the White Hut that was involved.
She does not testify? Give her 20 years.
