A conservation group and an Arizona congressman have filed what they say is the first federal lawsuit against the proposed border wall.
The lawsuit was filed Wednesday in Tucson by the Center for Biological Diversity and U.S. Rep. Raul Grijalva, a southern Arizona Democrat.
Wildlife conservationists say the wall would be detrimental to rare animals such as jaguars and ocelots that are known to traverse the international line.
The lawsuit seeks to require the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to put together a report on construction of the wall and the environmental impact of expanded operations on the U.S.-Mexico border.

Make the Center for Biodiversity or whatever it is pay for the report.
Funny how you didn’t hear them complain about the environmental impact of thousands of humans being trafficked across this same area leaving trash and destroying the flora and fauna.
Shove it up her keester....
We are done with your boo chit environmental craptastic delusions .
The wall will be built.
Hell, I’d build it and deal with the courts later.
What are they doing to impose some penalty on the Federal givernment?
“Sheah! And monkey’s might fly out of my butt...”
They build a freeway right down the middle of the Florida Everglades and created a wall that the animals cannot cross and it caused devastation to the eco systems. Where is the outrage?
Given their billions they'll throw lawyer, after lawyer, after lawyer at The Wall hoping to,at least, delay it.My hunch is that they see themselves winning the WH in 2020 and if they delay The Wall long enough it will be rendered worthless.
And,of course, this goes for the deportations as well.
The Center for Biological Diversity doesn’t do anything but file lawsuits. It’s their whole reason for existence. Worse, we tax payers fund their efforts. Their main office is located in Tucson. Perhaps the wall can make a bit of a detour to make sure the CBD is stuck on the Mexican side!

I've driven the length of Route 41 (recently) and the length of Alligator Alley (not so recently) and don't recall seeing a wall on either route. In fact I recall seeing gators right at the edge of Route 41.
YOU SEE, WHO IS CAUSING US TROUBLE AGAIN?
I feel for you. :(
It has to be frustrating to live in AZ.
Hey, do you keep in touch with friends and family and have they noticed if the flow across the boarder has tapered off.
I guess these greenies have never heard of cat doors.
Whatt laff, Raul “Louie” Grijalva, the angry campesino concerned about The Environment.
The only animals that pig cares about are the two legged kind who work for the Sinaloa mafia.
That's all it takes........
As a side note, I recently heard that here in Michigan, the Federal Fish and Wildlife had a successful cormorant population containment program in effect in certain areas of the Great Lakes where their populations were getting out of control. The process was monitoring their nesting sites and oiling the laid eggs to prevent their hatching.
Well last summer, a group known as PEER filed a lawsuit which resulted in a federal judge halting the FFW from their control program and thus limiting the group to merely counting the nests of these voracious birds.
Well here's the info on PEER. If you go the main page of their website, they identify themselves as a harmless Federal Employee Whistle blower Protection organization.
But once you dig further into the site, you will find they are nothing but a left wing environmentalist group that offers a download manual on how to become an environmental activist and how to create havoc with environmental issues in your local area...........
So the bottom line here is, the cormorants will once again multiply in sufficient number so as to pose a threat to the fisheries in the areas they are over populating........
I’m all for special visas for ocelots and jaguars.
Funny, not a single “endangered species” was of concern when the Government started building the 247-acre Utah Data Center, which will be used to collect personal data from every American.
Go down to Organ Pipe National Monument and check out the trash and debris.....
Now, tell me again about conservation and preservation....
This cannot be allowed to delay the building of the wall. Environmental “studies” routinely take years, especially when they’re being used by Democrats to prevent anything they disagree with. Build the wall and leave a few cuts open to allow animals to pass through while the “studies” are taking place. The cuts can all be manned to make sure no human animals get through.
Monarch butterflies should be able to fly over the top.
I-10 is a worse barrier now.
