That is the plan.
Russia will have to decide if it can accept the removal of Assad.
Rex Tillerson will tell Putin to go along or else face pressure to abandon Assad.

All Presidents and U.S. State has been on board with this, from the Clintons to the Bushes to the Manchurian Candidate Obama.
I’m hoping President Trump just doesn’t realize what a very, very bad idea this is. I’m sure lots of people, including Tony Blair acolytes, have told him this is a good thing. It is not. No doubt the Saudis push for it; which is why State has been on board. Even GHWB was leaning on Israel.
It has been prophesied; it’s going to happen. And most of the world has no idea what it will become.
