Hmmm. I’ll be 70 in June so I guess I don’t qualify?

You got that right. An 87 Buick is not a “muscle car.” Nor is it classic.

In this case I am sorry but you are wrong. The Grand Nationals are very highly valued collector cars.

My Colt GTS turbo could beat it any day.

my girlfriend (now my wife), had one of them colt turbos.

black and gold..had “pocket rocket” emblem across the top of the windscreen

thing would go from 0-80 in about 7 seconds.....and no higher.

I have read that people mod them up to 700 HP. Mine was just stock, but good enough for me. Nearly killed myself 2 weeks after I bought it. Bootleggered making a left turn. (My only prior car was a ford fiesta at the time).

People used to come up to me all the time asking what it was. Mind you - cars back then were very lame mostly, so it stood out.

Modern cars are simply insane with stock HP.

Btw, I bought it for 13k! I was literally standing on the showroom floor at a Buick dealership, and hear this ‘boobita’ sound, and a salesman says “Excuse me, sir, can you move?” I turn around and see it. It was on the floor unsold for about 30 seconds. 4-5 other people tried to buy it as I was filling out paperwork. It was a demo because it has 13,000 miles on it.

Plus, I had recently seen “The Road Warrior” in theater. Just instant sale.

If you had that race for pink slips, you'd be walking home.

Look up “David Ball - Riding With Private Malone” if you have time.

“Hmmmmm. I found a 1975 TR-6 in a barn a few years ago and bought it for about $3,500. After putting over $15K into it, it’s probably still worth what I paid for it.”

But you own one of the best looking vehicles ever made...in my opinion.

But I think that is what some posters think they are. These are just GN’s. I don’t think they have a lot of value compared to the GNX’s.

Maybe because 80s American cars were garbage?

^^^^^This They were junk then and they’re junk now. This was the time GM went off the rails. I don’t know what the hype is. You can go to a dealership now and buy an average 4 door sedan with a 1.8 liter that produces more horsepower.

2nd nicest Buick I ever had was a 1941 convertible with compound carburetion on a straight 8...

My grandfather gave it to me when I started high school. Traded it even-up for two 35 Ford flat-head water-injected v8's when I was a junior...(and had to learn to live with the smell of mechanical brakes...)

My Triumph is my daily driver.....said no one ever.

My '56 was. I was young, single and stupid and could only afford one car at a time!
