Nikki Haley: Regime change and the end of Assad is Trump's next priority for Syria
Reuters/Business Insider ^ | April 9 2017 | Timothy Gardner

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said in an interview that she sees regime change in Syria as one of the Trump administration's priorities in the country wracked by civil war.

Defeating Islamic State, pushing Iranian influence out of Syria, and the ouster of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad are priorities for Washington, Haley said in an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union” which will air in full on Sunday.

"It just -- if you look at his actions, if you look at the situation, it's going to be hard to see a government that's peaceful and stable with Assad."

AFP reported:

"We don’t see a peaceful Syria with Assad in there," Haley said.

Tillerson said that they want to use political means to remove Assad, not by force.

Who would replace him? Right now, it looks like it would be ISIS. As bad as Assad is, the alternatives look even worse. We should stay out of this.

Dear God, Trump has gone full metal GW!

Putin will never allow Assad to be toppled. If he did, the Islamic radicals would just take over Syria anyway.

What happened to Trump? What happened to, “we are not the world’s policemen?”

I am beyond furious. This is not what I expected or feared as I was SO CERTAIN Trump was not an idiot and could not be swayed by the idiots in the globalist establishment.

Dear God, Trump is committing suicide. He is going to lose the Senate in 2018 and he is going to be a one term president. We need him for two terms if for nothing else but that Ginsberg and Breyer could die and need replacing.

Tillerson is a much more skilled diplomat. She’s just throwing bombs and going as hard right as she can. Trump might want her yelling and screaming while Rex expresses the desire to move towards rapprochement. I think the media and McCain and Rubio types are reading into it what they wish it were.

The same was said about Saddam. Regime change through political means, then regimen change through the use of force once 9/11 happened. Oddly, none of the hijackers were Iraqis.

They say, “Never fall in love with a politician. They will break your heart every time.

Ain’t that the truth. Trump is becoming a globalist war hawk. SOB. MFSOB.

I do not think the administration is talking about militarily removing Assad.
They are talking about negotiating his removal which really is just a way of saying to Russia that we are withdrawing our recent resignation to the fact that he can stay. The reality is we are still resigned to the fact he will stay because there is no alternative other than a terrorist regime. All this kabuki theatre is the administration’s way of telling Assad no more chemical weapons going forward,

Who is making foreign policy now — Haley or Trump? And what right do we have to go around changing who governs nations that have attacked neither us nor their neighbors — and have not been allowed to defend themselves against false flag atrocity stories? I’m sticking with Trump on the other issues, but he’s dead wrong on this one.

There was peace in Syria until we started arming so Called good rebels. If we had minded our in business Russia would have no need to help Assad. But Russia is not going to sit on their butts while “McCain’s Rebels” take over.

If it’s not done by force it may not be done at all.

The globalists have gotten to him, that's what happened.

They would have gotten to Ted Cruz or anyone else that was nominated. It's all a powerful conspiracy and we're all doomed. Doomed, I tell you!

Haven't you heard?

If you saw Trump take a crap and wipe his ass, you'd be claiming he was wiping the wrong way.

You need to be slapped. You're hysterical.

Excuse me, Ted Cruz was never "my man."

I supported Trump the minute he came down the escalator in June of 2015 to announce his bid, because I KNEW something historical and special was going to happen.

Stood in line to proudly vote for him and straight Republican ticket.

Just because I oppose nation-building, sticking our noses in the ME for the umpteenth time, and doing the work of the Saudis doesn't mean I suddenly hate Trump.

Ignore the article from the media, Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson explained very well in detail what the Trump admin strategy for dealing with Syria, today on George Steph. Tv show. He made it clear regime change by force is not planned. It was a long interview, so best to get it from ABC TV or youtube.

Forget it. A whole bunch of people (including many here in FR) are in OMG-mode. Forget trying to reason with them.
