Despots fear strength and roll weaklings. A few cruise missiles against a dictator that isn’t going to retaliate sends a message that we will use force if necessary.

8 years of negotiations got us nowhere. The one country we attacked (Lybia) during those 8 years was actually working with us somewhat after we attacked Iraq and we sold out Egypt to the Muslim Brotherhood.

If Syria manages to counter attack—attack a US ship or our men (via Iranian Republican Guards) in Syria (Illegally—so they say) Trump will indeed go to Congress and the Nation for anything short of war. Look to see the use of Terrorists to counter attack—the shoe will drop in a few days—Monday or Tuesday is may guess. People will die—Americans.

A punitive strike in response to chem weapons usage is one thing, but pushing for regime change in Syria is a horrendous idea. There are NO good alternatives to the current regime there. And sure as hell, we must avoid the temptation of pouring large numbers of our troops in there. That will not get the backing of the people of this country, nor should it.

Rumor from who? Neocons who want another full-on Middle East war? So far, it’s only the US that has attacked Assad’s government, not the other way around.

Assad is fighting Islamists. He’s defending the Christians in Syria. When he kicked the Islamists out of Aleppo in December, the Christians celebrated and were able to have church services for first time in months.

Let's be real, Assad is fighting for himself. He is not the Christian Savior. He is aligned with Iran. We are the Great Satan.
