For CNN, it took a war and pointed, globalist "rhetoric" for Trump to become President of the United States. Per CNN host Fareed Zakaria on "New Day" this morning:
I think Donald Trump became president of the United States last night. I think this was actually a big moment."
"Candidate Trump had said that he would never get involved in the Syrian civil war. He told President Obama you can not do this without the authorization of Congress. He seemed unconcerned with global norms."
"President Trump recognized that the President of the United States does have to act to enforce international norms, does have to have this broader moral and political purpose. President Trump realized, as every president has for many decades now, that they have inherent legal authority as commander-in-chief and they don't have to go to a pesky Congress every time they want military force."
For the first time really as president, he talked about international norms, international rules, about Americas role in enforcing justice in the world. It was the kind of rhetoric that we've come to expect from American presidents since Harry Truman, but it was the kind of rhetoric that President Trump had pointedly never used either on the campaign trail nor in his inaugural."
"So I think there has been an interesting morphing and a kind of education of Donald Trump."
Because of Obama and his weak kneed feckless foreign policy, that you support, I have new Syrian refugees living just blocks away from me:
Every broken clock is right twice a day.
This whole "guilt by association" stunt is comical.
The people you mentioned are a bunch of hawks. Hawks always support military action. It's what hawks do.
The fact that neo-con war hawks occasionally overlap with the thinking of real adults every once in a while is pure coincidence, and cannot be logically used to criticize the very limited action which occurred—action which was the result of extreme provocation.
This situation required leadership in response—not empty threats like the previous administration levied...
OMG, you are an Obama Snowflake.

______________
Really? I’m an Obama snowflake?
Not the ones Assad killed.
you only caught a bit of the convo. Go back a bit more and I think you will find we are on the same page my FRiend.
Conventional Warfare is governed by one law - the Geneva Convention - which, surprise!, also bans use of nerve agents. Or will you only get upset when “our” guys infiltrated into people unknown in parts unknown get Quinned? I’d bet you won’t “get over it” in the least. I’d bet you’ll be raising hellfire right here beside me, my FRiend.
Go write this on your bathroom mirror and stare at it a few days until the meaning sinks in: NEVER AGAIN is not a request.
>>>Ya know we just got a splendid supreme court justice?<<<
>>>That remains to be seen<<<
Better than The Butcher of Benghazi’s SCOTUS pick by a longshot.
We were on the brink of losing the Republic just a few short Months ago. How quickly we forget.
BTW, not a one of the Republican Contenders running against Trump in the Primaries would have defeated Hillary last November, not a one. It’s a fools errand to think otherwise.
I remember being all worked up when Reagan ordered the strikes on Libya—I fell for all of the liberal koolaid, just like you are doing now.
The important message is not the one that either you or I receive. It is the one that is heard in Syria.
We can question until the cows come home why we are involved in Syria in the first place, when we have no apparent strategic interest over there. And we can blame Obama both for getting us involved and for taking weak-willed half measures. The inescapable truth is that Obama and his secretary of state messed things up royally over there, and it seems that walking away and leaving Syria to rot in that mess is not an option that Trump is willing to take.
I am not going to second-guess him, and I certainly am not going to second-guess the behind-the-scenes intel.
“Britain was an expansionist Nation and simply aquired more territory then she could control.”
Her Empire was fully solvent and under control in 1913. In 1914 she made the strategic mistake of getting involved in a European land war Against German - big mistake. The beginning of the end of her Empire. She depleted her treasury and lost an entire generation of men. Never fully recovered.
“Your respnse tells me you didnt understand any of wha I was trying to explain.”
To be quite honest, you explained nothing.
“You do know that there are hundreds of US Forces already in Syria, right? Have Freepers gone completely mad?”
So attacking the Russian allied Assad forces will make them safer? Much more likely to put them at risk....
“According to Hitler, we were the bad guys. Your point is what?”
Yes, and the Brits were our allies. Britain, Germany, France, Russia, Austria, Japan, Italy and others made horrible stategic war blunders in the 20th Century along with many other major nations. We were lucky, protected by two oceans and delaying our participation in WW 1 and WW 2.
Because of Obama’s feckless foreign policy a massive “refugee crises” has emerged. Syria has 5 million refugee alone. Funny how that DID NOT happen in Iraq under Bush. Why is that?
This refugee crises is literally at my doorstep.

You think Mad Dog Mattis didn’t think of that?
More likely it will impress Putin.
It’s lame being a former KGB officer -turned-leader when your arch enemies consist of a guy is widely perceived to be a Maoist gay dopehead- in power only because his country was too guilt ridden to turn down a black guy with no qualificaations other than being known for a shady real estate deal with a Syrian and an Iraqi billionaire who was one of Saddam Hussein’s henchmen .... and an aging old cackling hen in a crusty pantsuit unable to walk a straight line even when guided by the hand too cowardly to even make a concession speech much less get tough on her country’s enemies.
With Trump, Putin finally has a male arch enemy with whom it will actually be easier and less humiliating to have to concede to.
Thanks for the list

“Britain fully supports Trump’s Air Strike”
No surprise there. The “City” of London has lots at stake in taking out Assad. The lovely and delilghtful Wahabbi Saudis might take their money elsewhere.
“Because of Obamas feckless foreign policy a massive refugee crises has emerged. Syria has 5 million refugee alone.”
Right....and when McCain’s Jihadis take out Assad with U.S. support there will be another 5 million fleeing from their rule.
But Britain has also said they will not get caught in the Syrian quagmire..they will not go to war there.
Why should they, since Uncle SAP does the dirty deeds.
“OMG, you are an Obama Snowflake.”
Nope, it’s the snowflakes that are falling for Jihadi propaganda photos.
