BARBRA STREISAND: “SOMEONE TO WATCH OVER ME” In 1962, my godmother went to New York to see the musical “I Can Get It For You Wholesale.” She came back to Philadelphia raving about this girl in a minor part named Barbra Streisand, whom she swore would become a star. She got that one right.
This is from 1965, long before Barbra became a scold and totally insufferable. She opts for intimacy, better to show off her vocal chops.
