Russia reacted to U.S. military strikes on its ally Syria Friday by cutting a hotline intended to prevent midair incidents, a response that demonstrates Moscow's readiness to defy Washington and could even put the two nuclear superpowers on a course toward military confrontation.
President Vladimir Putin signaled he was ready to risk a clash with the U.S. and abandon hopes for mending ties with the U.S. under President Donald Trump, rather than accept the humiliation of standing by while his ally is bombed.

Or it could be one step closer to that scene from The Bedford Incident:
Captain Finlander: "If he fires one, I'll fire one."
Ensign Ralston: "Fire one!"
“This could all be part of a kabuki theater.”
Certainly hope so. We don’t want war with Russia. Just with those tin pot dictatorships .

From accusation of pro-Russian puppet to being an anti-Russian warmonger. Trump has completely demolished the puppetry claims in 24 hours. This is hilarious.
There’s absolutely no reason for this “incident” to get this out of hand.
Yes, once again we must abandon our common sense, and grasp at some “brilliant, 3-D Chess move.”
Seems we had to do the same thing with Ryancare.
Sometimes a sh*t sandwich, is just a sh*t sandwich!
FNC just blurbed that a Russian warship is steaming towards the Porter and Ross.

Were you asleep all throughout the 1950s, 60s, 70s, and 80s? From when did the democrats become anti Russians? That is the default Republican position.
Why do we want war with “tin pot” dictatorships that were FAR better at crushing radicals than we’ve been for 14 years?
>>From accusation of pro-Russian puppet to being an anti-Russian warmonger.
Funny how the “intelligence” instigating both views is originating from the same L.I.F.E.R. festooned community.
> From accusation of pro-Russian puppet to being an anti-Russian warmonger. <
Yep. It is certainly a strange world we live in. Literally anything seems possible now.
Stop quoting kooky Ron Paul. He is an extreme isolationist and doesn’t have one scintilla of intel that Trump receives.
Ron Paul is as close as one gets to being a certified whack job
Well it is getting out of hand, which is exactly why so many of us feel this move by Trump was reckless and dangerous.
“Why do we want war with tin pot dictatorships that were FAR better at crushing radicals than weve been for 14 years?”
It is about respect through strength. Crushing radicals by Assad was only physical and very much localized. But overthrowing an entire leadership will bring back the feeling of the superpower willing to flex its muscle. Once the US instills fear, it will be respected. Sunni Arabs are already singing Trump’s praises. They only understand brutal force. Trump is showing that. At least I hope so.
You’re joking right?
You’re being sarcastic because this IS a bad thing and you know that, right?
Or you just get a chuckle out of neocons taking over once again? :)
enjoy :)

Stupid. There will be no military confrontation with Moscow...
But, they get paid by the word for their idiotic Hyperbole...
I suspect the report of the comm channel being cut is bullshit. Never trust the Russians at face value, but they are also not dummies. They will flex their muscles and ratchet things up, BUT they will not remove the channel that prevents an accidental direct conflict with the US.
