How about Comey and McCabe stepping aside from any investigations involving Trump and the 2016 election given their obvious partisanship for Hillary Clinton?
Where are our groups filing ethics claims against Obama? Rice? Brennan?
I sure didn't.
I really don't give a damn who leads this committee for the Republican Party. Heck -- since everything Nunes said turned out to be true (and then some), I'm not even sure there's a role for Congress here anymore. The White House should be dealing directly with the Justice Department in turning over records for a criminal investigation involving a whole bunch of people in the Obama administration.
None of those dopes are members of Congress, so there are no ethics charges to be brought against them.
If there really was some reason Nunes had to quit, which I doubt, it could have been done with a spin like:
"As we move this investigation into its second phase, we're bringing in our more experienced team to head this important process in order to strengthen the process".
Instead we got Nunes saying essentially: "Democrats say I have ethics problems, and rather than deny that I'm quitting"
Some of the people here on FR sound as hysterical and unhinged as those on the left. They need to take a step back, get some popcorn and watch this all play out. It’s going to get VERY interesting.
I hope your right. I keep telling myself to give Trump a year and see where things are then.
The last thing the Democrats wanted was for Nunes to let another Republican IC committee member run the investigation.
They wanted to keep the red herring alive and fog the disclosures from Nunes for as long as possible.
Nunes has denied them the opportunity. He has de-personalized the investigation.
He clearly feels that the case facts are strong and someone else can take them and close the deal.
I love popcorn.
But there is no point in wasting perfectly good popcorn on the GOP.
I’d rather eat popcorn while watching an unplugged tv.
Tough to fight back with both brain cells, your spine and your nuts tied behind your back..
And they'll file a whole bunch of ethics complaints against Gowdy.
Espionage should really be a CRIMINAL matter that the DOJ should be dealing with. Instead it's being turned into a partisan "show" designed to give Congress video clips of themselves being "tough".
Very upset about this.
[Gowdy to take over as chairman of the committee

Yeah. Im thinking this may have a silver lining.]
Yes, because he got such wonderful results from chairing the Benghazi committee.... /sarc
Democrats are like a violent Chicago Street Gang that demands their victims play by marquis de queensbury rules.
Our guys need to man up.
I’m completely with you, but at least now his party is in power.
YES!
Why doesn’t a patriotic PAC file a complaint against Rep. Shiff’s hasty “disclosures” regarding the Trump Team’s undocumented “coordination” with the Russians?
His remarks were either ILLEGAL because they were not “authorized” or they were a LIE.
When was the last time a demorat stepped aside?
For cripes’ sake, the repubicans need to learn how the game is played and stop being spineless turds.
And yes, I meant to spell it “repubicans”.
Now I understand why the GOP tried to abolish this farcical committee after the 2016 elections. This dumbass “ethics” board is one of that ditzy broad’s, Nancy Pelosi’s, idea. There’s no “ethics” in politics. If you’re “ethical”, you don’t win elections.
I think of the old phrase, “when given lemons, make lemonade”.
Only the chairman and ranking member of the committee have authorization to review the security information. By rotating the chairman position, you make the information legally available to an expanded number of reliable committee members. They can’t destroy everyone.
