I have yet to see anything credible that shows Assad and Russia to bear responsibility. Seems far more likely that some scummy jihadists are to blame. Assad does not benefit in any way by doing this when he is winning and gaining ground. Only the jihadists benefit from this.

It certainly seems like it would be stupid for the winning side to do this. So I distrust the narrative that has been presented. The CIA pins hack attacks on others, it would not be too much for their failing minions in Syria to spoof a chemical attack.
