Vice President Mike Pence has offered to broker a peace accord with the White House and the House Freedom Caucus, a move that could lead the small but powerful faction of Congress to eventually support President Trump’s health-care overhaul, the FOX Business Network has learned.
The president’s health care initiative failed two weeks ago amid criticism from the Freedom Caucus—a fiscally conservative faction inside the House GOP – that it didn’t include enough free-market initiatives to effectively reverse ObamaCare’s vast array of insurance mandates that form the current health care system.
Without the support of the 36-member Freedom Caucus, Speaker Paul Ryan decided not to bring the president’s bill to the floor of the House for a vote, effectively killing the measure at least for the immediate future.
In a meeting Monday night with the Freedom Caucus, Pence offered to broker a truce, and even apologized for the heated rhetoric coming out of the White House against individual members, according to people who were present at the meeting.
Pence’s statement came after the Caucus’s chairman, North Carolina Congressman Mark Meadows, asked Pence to “address attacks coming from the White House” against the group, said one person in the room.
Pence, this person said, “Noted…I absolutely understand” the concerns of the Caucus about the attacks.
The person said Pence then apologized and offered to broker a peace between both sides. “Based on the conversation they had I very much think there will not be any more attacks on our members any time soon,” said one person at the meeting who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
This account was confirmed by Alyssa Farah, a spokeswoman for Meadows, who had no further comment. White House spokeswoman Hope Hicks didn’t immediately return a telephone call and email for comment

Read Article 1 section 8. The Republic is not a business. Every member of Congress and the executive branch took an Oath of office to support and defend the Constitution. The HFC members would appear to be among the few taking their oath of office seriously.
If the oath does not matter to you in regards to Congress, perhaps you have no problem with members of the military ignoring their oath of office, also?
Rules matter. The Constitution binds, regardless of what you or I personally think. The alternative is oligarchy, dictatorship and ironically, anarchy.

Yes, Trump is playing 17 dimension chess to include traveling forward and backward in time as the need arises. Yes, we get that and really believe it.
Meanwhile, the stupid and unprincipled (sarc) Freedom Caucus is succeeding (hopefully) in forcing the Uniparty’s Paul Ryan to incorporate more health care and insurance cost savings into the potential bill.
That is what I’ve maintained, too.
I don’t see the Freedom Caucus ever supporting Obamacare Lite.

Notice the president’s use of the word “we” and not “they,” the members of Congress.
It’s still not his bill it originated in the House and it belongs to the House, more specifically Paul Ryan. It would only be fairly described as Trump’s if he signed it into law.
“He’s either getting some REALLY bad advise from his damn family members or he’s ignoring good advice from Bannon and Conway.”
My bet is it’s the former.

What? Remember, President Trump is the man that wrote the "Art of the Deal". He is the wizard when it comes to making and shaking these types of things out. Why would he need any advice from people that have not been in the trenches as long as he has. No he has ALL the knowledge to make up his OWN mind and does not need help.
