CNNs Don Lemon described reports that former Obama National Security Adviser Susan Rice unmasked members of the Trump transition team a diversion during a report on Monday night.
Lemon then told his audience that his show will not insult your intelligence by focusing too much on the story.
Lets be very clear about this: there is no evidence whatsoever that the Trump team was spied on illegally. There is no evidence that backs up the presidents original claim, Lemon said.
We will not insult your intelligence by pretending otherwise, nor will we aid and abet the people who are trying to misinform you, the American people, by creating a diversion. Lemon's comments echo that of CNN national security correspondent Jim Sciutto, who earlier used similar language around the Rice story being a distraction.
The idea that Ambassador Rice improperly sought the identities of Americans is false. There is nothing unusual about making these requests when serving as a senior national security official, whether Democrat or Republican, said Sciutto, a former member of the Obama State Department until 2013.
This appears to be a story largely ginned up, partly as a distraction from this larger investigation, Sciutto concluded.

The subversives are childish.
That is one stupid man. That’s like saying the earthquake was a diversion from the leaky faucet.
I’ve compared them to termites for years. They’re parasitic, they infiltrate, and they’re almost impossible to eradicate. They survive through destruction of the edifice which took labor and treasure to create.
Well done. That’s just how the left operates, “the seriousness of the charge”, the charge they always make.
See how that works.
It's a tunnel vision exercise, directed at the half of the population with IQ below the average.
I agree. They are DEEPLY embedded and near-impossible to remove. We have to ruthless in their removal and not give a damn what the opposition says in return.
It is either targeted excision or it is wholesale chemotherapy and/or radiation of the worst kind that kills the good with the bad hoping the bad dies first. It is just that bad.
Let’s see how these journalists (aka journalpigs) like a taste of their own “guilty until proven innocent” medicine. I encourage everyone on every blog and medium possible to accuse these journalpigs of the worst crimes. Admit there is no evidence but due to the seriousness of the allegation an investigation must be conducted. Oh and point out that the journalpig I’m question has provided zero proof that they are not guilty of the crime.
Right on, Flip. A fine demonstration.
I’m sure Lemon would say the same had Dick Cheney demanded spreadsheets on all of the Incoming Obama administration’s calls for W .NOT!
“Reporters” sure acted way different during Watergate, eh?
Time to pull CNN’s press credentials. They are not the press so they fail to qualify the news.
Trump was correct when he said that people are starting to see it. That's a game changer.
"There is nothing unusual about making these requests when serving as a senior national security official..."
As Mark Levin said yesterday, the defense of Rice is easily rebutted by saying that the proper process was to get a FISA court warrant to surveil the suspected Americans.
Repeated "reverse targeting" of Russians known to be in contact with Trump associates creates a pattern of criminality that is ignored when the MSM treats each individual incident as legal without regard for the bigger picture.
Rice needs to be asked, under oath, what were the intelligence needs, on a case by case basis, that led to the selection of the foreigners who were surveilled when Trump associates were "incidentally" swept up.
If she cannot provide individual justifications, then she is admitting that it was an end-around of FISA controls.

If anything, he went way too easy on them. I'm amazed that he hasn't ordered ALL of their privileges to attend press briefings to be YANKED completely. I would hope that he would as it becomes clearer and clearer even to the great unwashed just how deceiving they have been, particularly as the Susan Rice revelations start to steamroll. As an alternative, I would really like it if Spicer answered their questions by first saying "before I answer that question, let me first list out the top 5 lies your network told last night in primetime about that very issue....
Isn’t Don Lemon the dope who got drunk on-air and told his co-anchor she had a “nice rack”?
Ha, I would love it if Spicer did that. By only answering their (leading) questions, he is forced to conform to their narrative.
Drunk again?...
It’s amazing how anybody can watch CNN.
Charles Manson is as believable.
