CNNs Don Lemon described reports that former Obama National Security Adviser Susan Rice unmasked members of the Trump transition team a diversion during a report on Monday night.
Lemon then told his audience that his show will not insult your intelligence by focusing too much on the story.
Lets be very clear about this: there is no evidence whatsoever that the Trump team was spied on illegally. There is no evidence that backs up the presidents original claim, Lemon said.
We will not insult your intelligence by pretending otherwise, nor will we aid and abet the people who are trying to misinform you, the American people, by creating a diversion. Lemon's comments echo that of CNN national security correspondent Jim Sciutto, who earlier used similar language around the Rice story being a distraction.
The idea that Ambassador Rice improperly sought the identities of Americans is false. There is nothing unusual about making these requests when serving as a senior national security official, whether Democrat or Republican, said Sciutto, a former member of the Obama State Department until 2013.
This appears to be a story largely ginned up, partly as a distraction from this larger investigation, Sciutto concluded.

The evil of the left wing media is stunning.
This bow-tied racist is dressing like a watered-down Elijah Muhammed.
This is wonderful.
Don Lemon and insulting intelligence...pretty much go hand-in-hand.
“There is nothing unusual about making these requests when serving as a senior national security official,”
Then let’s get Rice to testify under oath about who else did it.
Unmasking is only supposed to be done to identify homegrown terrorists calling ISIS in Syria.
So, if the person admits they did something on nation wide TV, that is not really evidence for an action?
Would it have helped if there had been video of her asking for the information?
I LOATHE the main scream media. President Trump was SO correct about them, too.
I really had to laugh at that one. Really! What this illustrates is that these people won't EVER give up or cede and inch. We are going to have to crush them out with our collective thumbs one-by-one. They are resolute in their own rabid dogma and won't change. One cannot appeal to them with logic, reason or the facts. They brush them off their backs like water off a duck. It is the way they are and they will not ever change. The only thing you can do is just not give them the reason to be a 'reason.'
Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my "wires tapped" in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!
6:35 AM - 4 Mar 2017Is it legal for a sitting President to be "wire tapping" a race for president prior to an election? Turned down by court earlier. A NEW LOW!
6:49 AM - 4 Mar 2017I'd bet a good lawyer could make a great case out of the fact that President Obama was tapping my phones in October, just prior to Election!
6:52 AM - 4 Mar 2017How low has President Obama gone to tapp my phones during the very sacred election process. This is Nixon/Watergate. Bad (or sick) guy!
7:02 AM - 4 Mar 2017
McCarthyism! Is it legal? I bet a lawyer could mae a good case.
Now, for the record, McCarthyism is legal. It is legal to witch hunt a political opponent, and gin up public animus.
All Don Lemon did was knock down his own straw man. Weak.
Lemon: a person or thing, especially an automobile, regarded as unsatisfactory, disappointing, or feeble.
Hey Don!
How is it that this proof of a massive felony is a diversion for your Dem excuse for which there are no facts?

Gloria Riviera and Jim Sciutto, television reporters, were married on Friday at the Roman Catholic Church of St. Ignatius Loyola in New York. The Rev. Mark C. Hallinan performed the ceremony.
The bride and bridegroom are correspondents in the London bureau of ABC News; she for the affiliate news service and he as the networks senior foreign correspondent.

Let's be clear about this: Trump did not claim the "wiretapping" (quotes from original - meaning surveillance) was illegal - he claimed it had happened. THAT is true, Donnie.
Let's be clear about this, as well: The process for unmasking was designed to make it difficult to identify Americans who are incidentally caught up in surveillance of foreigners. The usage of this power by Rice for political purposes is not legal under the existing laws. So your assertion that it was legal is, at best, premature, Donnie.
Finally, let's be clear about this, as well: You are proposing paying attention to the cover story - the "Russian hacking" - in lieu of paying attention to the underlying cause. That makes you a political mouthpiece, Donnie, and a very inarticulate and unintelligent one at that.
Lemon traffics in child pornography and child exploitation. Now, there is no evidence of this at this time. But due to the seriousness of this allegation it is clear that we need an investigation. Moreover, Don Lemon has provided zero proof that he does not traffic in child pornography. I would say that the smoke here places a cloud over Mr. Lemon. Perhaps, for example, it is a guilty conscience that lead him to irrationally speculate that an airplane disappeared into a black hole. The dots already connect and may even more once an independent prosecutor looks into this.
Anything that Mr. Lemon says to the contrary about this charge, until this investigation is complete is just an attempt at a diversion and should be ignored.
Heaven help us.
Yeah, if it comes from CNN, it comes right from the deep state organization’s war room.
