The Trump team is likely using this as part of the overall repeal and replace strategy.
Rhode Island is smaller than the DFW Metroplex. Further, the population is, as a rule, higher educated, mostly white, very few illegal aliens, with the retirees moving out to the south.
You cannot equate what happens in Rhode Island to what would happen in, say, Texas, where you have a high number of illegals subsisting on government handouts, who can’t speak English, who have no interest in melding into the population.
I am dubious.
Many expats have told me that Rhode Island has not gotten ANYTHING right for at least 150 years.
