There is no evidence she did anything illegal, so far.
Unmasking was not illegal even if she did it.
I’m under the impression that the unmasking can only legally occur when there is a national security concern. And, she disseminated the unmasked intelligence to various other intelligence agencies here and abroad. She’s going to have to prove that she gathered that intelligence, disseminated that intelligence, and unmasked those names for purposes of national security, and not for political reasons.

I don’t know what the laws are regarding this other than what I have read here.
BUT- common sense tells me if it was NOT illegal:
-Why LEAK the info? Why not just report what was found?
- Why attempt to back pedal about what she originally said, even denying she even said it?
-And if it was NOT ILLEGAL, then WHY is there an INVESTIGATION underway?
So with no answers to these questions, my common sense is telling me that she did something very wrong, which in her govt position can only mean one thing: she broke the law!
Why is it not illegal? If it was legal, then it wouldn’t even be in the news. Everything I’ve read on it, that I can find, makes it appear to be illegal. Wrong, not done, against the law, etc.
If you are in the field and have personal knowledge that it is legal to unmask names of people NOT being targetted by surveillance (even though they actually were targetted, illegal), I’d like to the facts.
