People are watching the “black” series “Underground” .. and getting all kinds of ideas.

I am not watching it, but my first instinct was ... how many people know that it was WHITE people who rescued a lot of black people; and many of the white people paid with their lives.

That story is NEVER told.

"Wild Bill" Hickok's father, William Alonzo Hickok, was part of the Underground Railroad in Illinois.

Trivia: GHWB41 and GWB43 are direct descendants of Wild Bill's mother, Polly Butler.

To the contrary. It is told far too often. Every time the Civil War is brought up, that bit gets mentioned over and over and over again.

What is lost on most people is the fact that the North did not invade the South to free black people. The North invaded the South to prevent the South from having economic independence from the Washington D.C./New York axis of power.

The "free the slaves" thing was just propaganda.
