The United States is prepared to respond to North Korean nuclear threats on its own if China fails to pressure Pyongyang, President Donald Trump said in an interview with the Financial Times on Sunday.

"Well if China is not going to solve North Korea, We will. That is all I am telling you," he was quoted as telling the newspaper....

How do you solve a problem like Korea?
How do you catch a clown and pin him down?
How do you find a word that means Korea?
A flibbertigibbet! A will-o’-the wisp! A clown!

“As to being “chicken s****”...I’m in Seuol now. From what I observe, that doesn't seem to be the case.”

So if that's the case, why are the South Koreans more than likely going to elect a new president who is not for dealing effectively with NK. Like someone said the other day ( I think it was Bolton) “if after 25 years of appeasement, he doubts that the 26th year of the same course will yield the results that are needed." I understand that no one wants to go to war, but it's clear to me at least that failing to deal with this lunatic Un is likely to get some of us killed unless we preemptively strike him. I guess the big problem to be solved is preventing him from attacking Seoul when we hit his nuclear and missile sites. This whole thing goes clear back to MacArthur and Truman and not “fixing” the Chinese back in 1950.

“Really, what is it about the hats?”

They are all “coneheads?”

No he isn’t, he’s their puppet, despite their protestations to the contrary.

People regularly forget how little value the communist government there puts on it’s citizens. They would gladly trade 50%+ of it’s population to defeat us. Hell given the current state of China they would consider that a win win. I think they want us to try anyway. You are familiar with the last Korean War? Rinse and repeat. Use nukes or stay home.

The only meaningful moves I see short of dealing with China for us are start a war, convince China, or many nukes stationed in Japan and South Korea. I’m not entirely sure those nukes wouldn’t start a war.

Destroying North Korea’s nuclear program likely would require using nukes. But if that is what it takes, let’s get it over with. I’m all for nuking North Korea — and a few places in the Middle East.

Really, what is it about the hats?

Maybe they're like Henry VIII's armor codpiece - deceptively oversized.

The guy is too unstable to be reliable to anyone IMO.

Yes, I believe they are using him as a puppet. What happens when he gets mad at them?

If this guy were to come to the conclusion his days were numbered and someone ticked him off a the right time, he could do just about anything to anyone.

I wouldn’t bet against China doing just about anything with disregard to it’s citizens. It’s the collectivist mindset. Everything for the good of the Communist government. If it survives, “...why should you be upset to have been a part of the sacrifice that saw it win?”

Maybe that was all about protecting the “family jewelry” he was desperate for a male child.

The Tower of London tour guides (Yeomen Warders) referred to it as something of a "battlefield boast" - intended to reassure his troops that the king had "the right stuff" to lead. If it also served to intimidate his enemies, even better.

A more logical explanation for the North Korean officers' uniforms is that the Soviets used similar covers and the Red Chinese copied them. The Norks are now trying to one-up the ChiComs.
