The United States is prepared to respond to North Korean nuclear threats on its own if China fails to pressure Pyongyang, President Donald Trump said in an interview with the Financial Times on Sunday.
"Well if China is not going to solve North Korea, We will. That is all I am telling you," he was quoted as telling the newspaper....

China doesn’t seem to get it. A nuclear capable guy like Kim on your border, is as easily a threat to you as he is to South Korea, Japan, and the United States.
Before this is over, he may serve as our proxy before being China’s against us.
“China”, ie the ChiComs, won’t like that. They don’t want to solve the Nork problem.
If they can get rid of the Norks, Chinese people will think they can get rid of the ChiComs also.
There are asymmetrical warfare considerations also.
How bout solving the fuching islam jihadi rapefugees coming in here, too?
Dammit.
I have been expecting Trump to eliminate the NK missiles on the launching pad.
The last time, they went in the general direction of our ally, Japan.
China is not going to confront the US militarily until they are fully prepared. Not there yet.
Actually get Congress out of the way and things will get done....both parties are concerned with themselves and not the threats to this country or it’s people.
I agree about China’s intentions, but that doesn’t mean they’ll reign in North Korea or Iran. I mention Iran because Korea has been sharing tech with Iran. I think Iran is part of China’s long term plan, even if Russia has pull there.
Why us?
South Korea is right there. Let them handle it.
Xi and Trump will meet Thursday and Friday of this week.
This will be the most important two-days of this presidency, yet, in my humble opinion.
North Korea is important, but so is the trade relationship between China and America.
We are currently being terribly abused, in the trade relationship. This in my opinion is the real issue between the two countries.
This will be an important week, in my opinion.
I think Trump would rather have China stop North Korea.
Hence the talking. In this instance, a well made statement could have as much effect as a military strike.
In general, I do agree with your thought there.
What? The site of your next underground nuclear test exploded before you could set off your nuke? That's a shame.
Agreed that he may already have them or soon will, but stopping them once they're launched is harder than you seem to think. Maybe not impossible, but it's far from a sure thing, especially if they are able to launch several at once. Time from launch to impact is around 30 minutes, and they move at about 17,000 miles per hour, which is far faster than any of our interceptors.
The fat crazy kid.
Why us?
South Korea is right there. Let them handle it.
South Korea doesn’t want to feed the millions of NK refugees that would head south afterwards.
I’ve long thought that a good solution to the 2 Koreas was to rejoin them on the condition that Korea would remain a neutral border state between China and the US not aligned with either nation. I hope Trump is able to work out a solution like that.
Excellent.
The fat boy has viewed America as a weak and impotent enemy. Under Obama he was correct but this is the time of Trump
For China, North Korea IS the solution. North Korea is effectively the Great Wall for China.
