You’re known by your enemies. Who is ripping the FC:
#1 The GOPe
#2 WSJ/Chamber of Commerce Wing of the Republican Party
A pox on all of them.
1. You were not a politician, you were a businessman skilled in negotiating.
I’ve done some (by my standards) big negotiations. You don’t always win on the first round, and sometimes you’re not even trying to win on the first round. It’s at least possible that President Trump felt a need to run this one up the flagpole and see it fail before the next step. Showing the other side that you’re willing to walk away can be a reasonable strategy, and I’m okay with not having an Obamacare repeal yet if that’s what he’s doing.
2. Despite the claims of your critics you said that you were not a liar, that you would make good on all your promises.
Making good on the substance is more important than making good on the timing. Now they have tried a soft, mild repeal. Since that failed, he has a better justification for going with a blanket repeal. I’d call that a win if he follows through (still to be determined).
3. You promised the country that you would repeal and replace Obamacare and repeatedly made the following statements to that effect:
a. We will immediately repeal and replace ObamaCare - and nobody can do that like me. We will save $’s and have much better healthcare!
We all knew that “immediately” didn’t mean within seconds, not with RINOs in the way. If that was campaign spin for “start working on it immediately and finish in the first two years”, that’s close enough to true.
b. Im going to work immediately to knock out Obamacare, and we are going to start taking care of our vets and the military.
He did start in the first few weeks. It’s too big a job to finish in a few weeks, especially with RINOs who won’t send him the same bills they were happy to send to the communist thug.
c. On my first day Im going to ask Congress to immediately send me a bill to repeal and replace Obamacare.
He asked, they refused/failed. He’ll go back and ask again when it’s time. If he doesn’t, I will turn on him, but at least for now I have an open mind.
d. When we win on November 8th and elect a Republican Congress, we will be able to immediately repeal and replace Obamacare. I will ask Congress to convene a special session.
Didn’t happen, and it wouldn’t have mattered if it had.
We can no longer allow communist infiltration, communist subversion, and the international communist conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids.
What I don’t get is why didn’t he have his team write the bill and get it through Congress instead of having Ryan take the lead. He didn’t even know what was in it! Obviously he didn’t care, he just wanted to get something passed so he could check it off as done.
HERE, HERE!
Trump is looking more and more like a fraud everyday.
Republicans in Congress don’t all click their heels and march lock-step into a “glorious future” as the democrats did with O’Care. Obama also had 59 or 60 + Biden in the Senate, so whatever they wanted they got. Nothing could stop it.
(panic, generalized anxiety, phobias, social anxiety, OCD)
Lets say that regardless of the number of pages that it took to write Obamacare, Obamacare boils down to the unconstitutional individual mandate. After all, all that the corrupt uniparty thieves ever wanted with Obamacare was a new source of unaccountable tax revenues, regardless that the states have never expressly delegated to the corrupt feds the specific power to tax and spend for INTRAstate healthcare purposes.
Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States. Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
"State inspection laws, health laws, and laws for regulating the internal commerce of a State, and those which respect turnpike roads, ferries, &c. are not within the power granted to Congress [emphases added]." -Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]. United States v. Butler, 1936.
Same evil as Al Gores unconstitutional carbon tax.
But note that one of Trumps earliest official actions as president was to order key federal agencies basically to not enforce the individual mandate, the cornerstone of Obamacare, effectively starving Obamacare to death.
Trump gets rid of the stupidest part of Obamacare
So Trump has effectively repealed Obamacare using executive power actually supported by Obamacare. Were just waiting for Obamacare to fall over dead.
Corrections, insights welcome.
