WHERE IS TRUMPCARE?
Self | 31 MARCH 2017 | O6RET

MEMO FOR PRESIDENT TRUMP: WHERE IS TRUMPCARE?

Throughout the campaign you said that:

1. You were not a politician, you were a businessman skilled in negotiating.

2. Despite the claims of your critics you said that you were not a liar, that you would make good on all your promises.

3. You promised the country that you would repeal and replace Obamacare and repeatedly made the following statements to that effect:

a. “We will immediately repeal and replace ObamaCare - and nobody can do that like me. We will save $'s and have much better healthcare!”

b. “I’m going to work immediately to knock out Obamacare, and we are going to start taking care of our vets and the military.”

c. “On my first day I’m going to ask Congress to immediately send me a bill to repeal and replace Obamacare.”

d. “When we win on November 8th and elect a Republican Congress, we will be able to immediately repeal and replace Obamacare. I will ask Congress to convene a special session.”

I SUPPORTED YOU BUT NOW I’M ASKING “WHERE’S THE BEEF?” WHERE IS TRUMPCARE?

WHY ARE YOU SUPPORTING THE RINO RYAN AND HIS INSURANCE COMPANY SPONSORED HEALTHCARE BILL THAT:

- DOES NOT REPEAL OBAMACARE?

- DOES NOT ALLOW INTERSTATE COMPETITION?

- DOES NOT PROHIBIT ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS FROM GETTING ACCESS TO THE PROGRAM THAT LAW-ABIDING AMERICANS ARE PAYING FOR?

WHY ARE YOU NOW ATTACKING THE CONSERVATIVES WHO HAVE BEEN YOUR MOST LOYAL SUPPORTERS?

WHY IS THIS BILL NOT CALLED TRUMPCARE? ARE YOU AFRAID TO PUT YOUR NAME ON IT BECAUSE YOU KNOW IT IS FLAWED, BECAUSE YOU KNOW THAT IT WILL NOT UNDO OBAMACARE AND THAT ULTIMATELY IT BE DISCOVERED AS A FRAUD?

I’M BEGINNING TO THINK THAT YOU’RE NOT THE HOT SHOT NEGOTIATOR YOU THINK YOU ARE.

I’M BEGINNING TO THINK THAT YOU’RE JUST A BULLY MASQUERADING AS A DEAL MAKER WHO NOW RESORTS TO THREATS WHEN YOU DON’T GET YOUR WAY.

I’M BEGINNING TO THINK THAT YOU’RE NOT AS TRUTHFUL AS YOU SAY YOU ARE.

Look, if it’s an amendment it’s not a part of the main bill. So who wrote the amendment? Any Rep. can propose amendments. This means nothing.

RE:”The President needs to have the courage to start his own party and take the RINO’s and liberal republicans with him”

He has his own party already, he won the primary then the election.

Although Dems cant accept the second and some cant accept the first.

1. You were not a politician, you were a businessman skilled in negotiating.

I’ve done some (by my standards) big negotiations. You don’t always win on the first round, and sometimes you’re not even trying to win on the first round. It’s at least possible that President Trump felt a need to run this one up the flagpole and see it fail before the next step. Showing the other side that you’re willing to walk away can be a reasonable strategy, and I’m okay with not having an Obamacare repeal yet if that’s what he’s doing.

2. Despite the claims of your critics you said that you were not a liar, that you would make good on all your promises.

Making good on the substance is more important than making good on the timing. Now they have tried a soft, mild repeal. Since that failed, he has a better justification for going with a blanket repeal. I’d call that a win if he follows through (still to be determined).

3. You promised the country that you would repeal and replace Obamacare and repeatedly made the following statements to that effect:

a. “We will immediately repeal and replace ObamaCare - and nobody can do that like me. We will save $’s and have much better healthcare!”

We all knew that “immediately” didn’t mean within seconds, not with RINOs in the way. If that was campaign spin for “start working on it immediately and finish in the first two years”, that’s close enough to true.

b. “I’m going to work immediately to knock out Obamacare, and we are going to start taking care of our vets and the military.”

He did start in the first few weeks. It’s too big a job to finish in a few weeks, especially with RINOs who won’t send him the same bills they were happy to send to the communist thug.

c. “On my first day I’m going to ask Congress to immediately send me a bill to repeal and replace Obamacare.”

He asked, they refused/failed. He’ll go back and ask again when it’s time. If he doesn’t, I will turn on him, but at least for now I have an open mind.

d. “When we win on November 8th and elect a Republican Congress, we will be able to immediately repeal and replace Obamacare. I will ask Congress to convene a special session.”

Didn’t happen, and it wouldn’t have mattered if it had.

We can no longer allow communist infiltration, communist subversion, and the international communist conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids.

Remember, at first the Congress critters were included (ha ha ha ha) then they were exempted.
The illegals were not included, then they were being included.
No mandate, then there was one. It wasn’t a tax, then it was ... then the IRS Gestapo were weaponized to enforce it.

We want the whole damned thing repealed because then we look at EVERY thing included in the new before it is passed.
No more, “We have to pass it before the yokels/people paying for it get wise to us.”
The framers would be shooting by now, but their legacies are more patient about such things.

What I don’t get is why didn’t he have his team write the bill and get it through Congress instead of having Ryan take the lead. He didn’t even know what was in it! Obviously he didn’t care, he just wanted to get something passed so he could check it off as done.

And that is the crux of the issue. Excellent reply! If tomorrow Trump repealed O’care, what exactly would he replace it with given his stated goals for health care? Trump doubled down on permanently destroying health insurance so this debate is about health care and who will pay. Trump wants everyone covered and he wants them to have it at low cost to them care and he wants it Beautiful.

I remember during the GOP primary one of the most frequent arguments for Trump was that unlike the others, he can beat Hillary.

He also promised not to touch SS or Medicare.

Well it worked, he got elected, Hillary didn't.

Shouldn't be surprised now over this.

Plus if Trump can't get stuff through a GOP congress, it makes him look weak and ineffective.

(He's not up for re-election next year, but congress is)

Republicans in Congress don’t all click their heels and march lock-step into a “glorious future” as the democrats did with O’Care. Obama also had 59 or 60 + Biden in the Senate, so whatever they wanted they got. Nothing could stop it.

Trump is not dictator.
Ryan is not his friend.
Trump is off target and attacking what should be his base.
So, no Trumpcare.
The bill was a bailout for those who jumped in bed with government.
Let them rot.

To: O6ret; All
Please consider the following explanation concerning Trump’s already done effective repeal of Obamacare.

Let’s say that regardless of the number of pages that it took to write Obamacare, Obamacare boils down to the unconstitutional individual mandate. After all, all that the corrupt uniparty thieves ever wanted with Obamacare was a new source of unaccountable tax revenues, regardless that the states have never expressly delegated to the corrupt feds the specific power to tax and spend for INTRAstate healthcare purposes.

Same evil as Al Gore’s unconstitutional carbon tax.

But note that one of Trump’s earliest official actions as president was to order key federal agencies basically to not enforce the individual mandate, the cornerstone of Obamacare, effectively starving Obamacare to death.

Trump gets rid of the stupidest part of Obamacare

So Trump has effectively repealed Obamacare using executive power actually supported by Obamacare. We’re just waiting for Obamacare to fall over dead.

Corrections, insights welcome.

YES! We are eye-to-eye! We didn’t get the conservative that many would have preferred but we didn’t get Hillary. Those of us who where anti-Trump in the primary and NOT Never-Trump afterwards (or just anyone but Hillary) see this fairly clear eyed. Trump is not a conservative but he will make good SC picks and reign in immigration and that is enough. Anything else he can help move rightward is a bonus and should be accepted with open loving arms.

No good would come out of Trump with a Dem congress.

It may be unacceptable, but I’m not sure what some people on here think Trump can do about it.
