President Trump on Friday urged his former top adviser, Michael Flynn, to seek an immunity deal from Congress, after news broke late Thursday that Flynn was seeking such a deal. Trump said Flynn should cut a deal because the entire thing is a witch hunt that ostensibly won't lead anywhere.

Can we seriously start posting archived links from WaPo, NY Times, etc., via archive.is so they no longer get any traffic from us?
This post is aimed at all of FR, not you personally.

Fake News
Fake Tears
Fake Indian
Fake Russians
This is just another in a long line of unsourced, unattributed nonsense from the new crop of WaPo reporters and reporterettes who are looking to get their “Schlomo and the Shyster” credentials (Woodward/Berstein).
News is patently NOT opinion. And ‘opinion’ not backed up by facts and real information is just gossip with a bigger backyard fence.
You make a good point but when I see ridiculous articles like this I count on my FRiends to debunk and ridicule to keep my sanity.
That is the beauty of Freerepublic....take in everything and let the truth be hashed out in the comments.
As soon as I heard this I wondered if Flynn was thinking of pulling an “Ollie North” on Congress.
How does reading the archived version change any of that??
Maybe they don’t lead you to the ad trackers and embedded scripts and all that other jazz..... just a thought. Don’t know for sure.
Last night both the Housr and Senate intel committees denied there were any discussions of a deal. More lies.
From what I know and have seen regarding President Donald Trump, I would bet this is a setup to ensnare and trap some Evil Democrats that played a part in this Criminal Conspiracy.
All very true.

This one is well sourced, but childish stupidity. Flynn did once say that requeting immunity means one is almost certainly guilty of a crime. Flynn also suggested he might seek immunity in exchnage for Congressional testimony. The conclusion on the front page of the WaPo is that by Flynn's standards, the Trump administration is probably guilty of a crime.

The “sourcing” only shows contradictory statements by Trump, whoever - with time in between.
There is still nothing in the article that justifies claiming “legal trouble.” That is what I was talking about.
Show me a filed lawsuit, show me an administration DOJ official saying we’re calling GJ or ‘investigating’ or whatever - not blah, blah Tweet this, tweet that.
String some tweets you think make some contradictory point and then call that “legal trouble?” Horsesh!t.
I spent some time looking for some real bio information on this putz. Schools, education, work history and such. Only journal entity “writer credits” and buzz. He’s done a good job at hiding his provenance and trying to make people think he actually has experience.
In terms of the America out here he knows nothing about, he is a neophyte new generation “journalist” trying to make it in the DC world in which he now inhabits.
