One other thing that I personally think is a HUGE contributor to the epidemic is a complete absence of moral leadership the past 8 years (at a minimum). Democrats will never, ever criticize somebody’s “lifestyle” or personal decisions. Leftism / progressivism demands that you never judge another’s life or decisions. Hence, we have had zero national moral leadership on any issue. Remember Obama saying abortion was “above my pay grade”?
Nancy Reagan’s “Just Say No” campaign worked. I’m hopeful that Trump and Christie taking a moral stand on drugs might turn the nation away from this scourge.

You are right about no moral leadership. But I was being taught moral relativism back in the 60’s. Also, “don't be judgemental!” was beaten into us. Things are disintegrated now that the 60’s kids are in charge. Trump is a throwback. I detested “Just say no” campaign. Most kids will mimic this mindless slogan in1st grade like mine did. But it plants an idea in an innocent mind of sin. These kids become teens who then experiment with "sin". thus the failure of government sponsored prohibiton as in the 20’s and now with a drug epidemic. Just say no is not what I consider a moral guide to life for children.
