Please go back and reflect on your first post to me and tell me you didn’t do to me what you are accusing me of. I call that projection and liberals are famous for it. Good day.

This needs to end.

I don't care if we have to go Singapore to get it done.

Not trying to start an argument but I think the reason that addiction is considered a disease is because there is some genetic disposition for it. Just like there is a genetic disposition for some cancers.

For instance, all of my siblings can take or leave alcohol except my brother. He is a recovering alcoholic who has been through rehab. My dad was an alcoholic, and I believe my brother was genetically affected.

The same with opioids. I have had opioids numerous times for various reasons. Never was hooked, in fact I can’t stand taking them. Yet some people use them for treatment of some injury/surgery once and they are addicted. Those people have a propensity for opioid addiction. It’s not because they have flawed morals or are weak-willed.

Again, not trying to start an argument. Peace to you, FRiend.

That is interesting conjecture but totally unfounded in any evidence. Are you saying that we can identify an Oxycontin gene? Is that chromosome identified? Do you have a number. For example , color blindness is the 10th Chromosome. What is the FAT chromosome? Are you into Genome analysis? I love that . What is the indicator for a homosexual— That is a disease , right?

Agreed. Addiction is not a disease. Anything you cure by will and character is not a disease.

You are right about no moral leadership. But I was being taught moral relativism back in the 60’s. Also, “don't be judgemental!” was beaten into us. Things are disintegrated now that the 60’s kids are in charge. Trump is a throwback. I detested “Just say no” campaign. Most kids will mimic this mindless slogan in1st grade like mine did. But it plants an idea in an innocent mind of sin. These kids become teens who then experiment with "sin". thus the failure of government sponsored prohibiton as in the 20’s and now with a drug epidemic. Just say no is not what I consider a moral guide to life for children.

“Moral guide for children” - yes, that is exactly the point. Starting with Clinton, then accelerated greatly by Obama, our gov has pushed moral relativism, forced acceptance of perversion, and “there is no truth” to our children. They grow up steeped in it. Government can do a lot to influence the morals of a nation and especially of its children who grow up with 8 or 16 years of a particular administration’s leadership on values. It’s going to be a long, slow, tough slog to turn the nation around and the guy at the top wields enormous influence.
