This week, Alabama congressman Mo Brooks introduced a bill that amounted to a one-line repeal of Obamacare. The bill read "Effective as of Dec. 31, 2017, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is repealed, and the provisions of law amended or repealed by such Act are restored or revived as if such Act had not been enacted.

Its what we promised the American people, Brooks told Buck of the bill. Repeal Obamacare. It's not a hundred-and-some page bill that on the one hand says we're repealing, but on the other says we're going to reincorporate all the provisions of Obamacare that are driving up costs so much."
...
"The Republican health care bill is single payer," Brooks stressed. "Youre just not paying all of it. It's just a stepping stone to single payer."
Brooks expressed undaunted optimism about the world of healthcare after a repeal, and provided a roadmap on how to get there.
Repeal puts us in an excellent position. If we did nothing else, America reverts back to the levels of 2009, which produced the best healthcare system in the world, Brooks said. If the Tea Party movement in 2010 that culminated in Donald Trumps election gets to work contacting their senators and demands the repeal of Obamacare and nothing else, then it will get done."

Freedom caucus member Brooks double-majored at Duke in Political Science and Economics (Magna Cum Laude for the latter), plus earned a J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law.
Not much gets past him.
Bump!
But we needed to pass Ryancare to find out what was in it, so we could have a win, and keep the momentum, and undermine everything the GOP says they stand for..../s
Exactly.
The Mental Health Parity Act needs to go too.
There should be no gold-filled iron rice bowls by law at my expense or yours.
I have always been an “at-will” employee.
Equality means equality, Democrats!
perfect. if only Trump had listened to him.
Too bad I doubt this bill will get much traction. And, of course, 50% of FR nowadays is perfectly fine with that (and wishes RyanCare had made it!)...
"Effective as of Dec. 31, 2017, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is repealed, and the provisions of law amended or repealed by such Act are restored or revived as if such Act had not been enacted," the bill states.
Mo Brooks is a member of The House Freedom Caucus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ask your Congress Critter to co-sponsor the bill and sign the discharge petition for US Representative Mo Brooks's bill titled, "Obamacare Repeal Act"!!!!!!!!!!!
Duh!
Ryan is from Wisconsin.
Wisconsin is one of half dozen states that are the bulwark of American crony capitalism.
Taking a pic? Say “smile, government cheese”.
Yes, if only President Trump had listened to Mo Brooks—um, then Brooks' bill still wouldn't have had any chance of passing either the House or the Senate.
Such a bill is only passed when the sitting President is guaranteed not to sign it...
It’ll never make it out of committee. The Repeal & Replace crowd won’t let it.
I heard some RINO already has Brooks in her sights, potential primary challenger.
Which is why representatives need to sign the discharge petition. That forces it to the floor, do not pass go. Need 50% +1 to do that, and it can be done. I already called my guy to both cosponsor and sign the discharge petition.
I don’t see anyone unseating Mo Brooks at this time. He is well respected in the district.
People who are not insured dump their costs on the rest of us.
So that leaves four choices:
> bill these people
> deny care to these people
> force insurance upon them (obamacare)
> encourage getting coverage in the market.
I want costs to be as low as possible so that people can actually choose to insure themselves. As for those below the poverty line, some sort of catastrophic insurance plan would defray costs; anything short of that should require billing of the individuals. If all of that is refused, then deny care.
