Under extreme pressure from conservative activists, House Republican leaders and the White House have restarted negotiations on legislation to repeal the Affordable Care Act.
But efforts to revive the legislation in the House could take weeks, lawmakers conceded, as Congress moves forward with a full plate of other time-consuming issues. And the renewed push did not meet with much enthusiasm from Senate Republicans, who said they had other priorities at the moment.
Nonetheless, Speaker Paul D. Ryan vowed to renew efforts to repeal the law, despite lasts week crushing setback when House Republicans tossed aside a repeal bill because they lacked the votes to pass it.

“Prices would drop as there would be competition.
The gov’t isn’t paying for anything, you are keeping your own money with a tax deduction! “
Duh ... prices would go up!
The more you spend the more you get back from the government! Buy the Cadillac plan with all the bells and whistles! No problem. The government pays for it!
So, you are SPENDING YOUR OWN MONEY.
Prices would go down and less would be spend on insurance since that would be a lower priority for people, people aren't going to waste money on a Cadillac plan.
Clearly, you are a socialist, since you have no concept on how the market actually works.
It is not a credit, it is a tax deduction, which means they are only paying less taxes!
“It is not a credit, it is a tax deduction, which means they are only paying less taxes!”
Let me refer you to the opening line in this thread that you butted in on ...
“Create a tax-credit so that all premiums, deductibles, co-pays can be written off ...”
“Prices would go down and less would be spend on insurance since that would be a lower priority for people, people aren’t going to waste money on a Cadillac plan.
Clearly, you are a socialist, since you have no concept on how the market actually works. “
DUH ... Think about this for a moment. Government will give you a tax credit for buying a new car!
Will you be more inclined to buy a new car? YES!
Now that we have that settled we can look at the supply-demand curve.
There will be MORE demand for cars! Thus price of cars will go UP!
ECON 101. DUH!
ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, you clearly don’t, since you act like tax money is government money!
Repeal of Affordable Care Act Is Back on Agenda, Republicans Say>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
You mean further attempts to sell American freedom down the tubes to Big Pharm and Big Insuramce will resume?
The insurane companies are loggying hard to return to pre Obama Care insurance regimes. Their profits will be enormous because they have managed to convince a large number of Amereicans that they now must live with $6000,00 deductables. Profits will skyroacket.
Thats what this is all about.
The Freedom Caucus needs to stick to its guns. Compose a health care plan for Americans, not for the companies that ruined it all in the first place by over charging and risk denial.
“Well, you clearly dont, since you act like tax money is government money!”
I notice that you did not respond to the issue but choose to impose a position on me that is absolutely false.
Your position paraphrased:
‘Tax deductions for health insurance would cause insurance costs to go down.’
Thus we can conclude from that that if we remove existing deductions then prices would go UP!
Call your realtor and ask them what would happen if the deductions for home loans was removed.
ECON 101. If you really cared.
It is called the law of marginal utility.
Putting in tax deductions for health insurance would allow people to buy insurance who couldn't normally afford it and keep the Government out of the business.
That was exactly your position!
Now, ultimately, there is a free market solution to the health insurance problem, like there for every problem in society.
Clearly, someone like you with a government control mindset, can't grasp that simple fact.
“If the government gave you a tax deduction for buying a car it would be YOUR money it was returning to you to buy one and most people would buy ones in their own price range, not Cadillacs, since it was their own money they were using to buy it, not the ‘governments money’, as were asserting. “
Duh ECON 101. The more you spend the more the government returns to you! Thus more money is flowing to the buyers increasing demand raising prices.
It is obvious that you have not taken ECON 101 and have no grasp of the supply-demand curve so GOODBYE.
“Now, ultimately, there is a free market solution to the health insurance problem, like there for every problem in society. “
A free market system would have no tax deductions.
REPEAL! No replace. End of story.
This damn thing would be repealed fully by tomorrow IF Trump would just eliminate the executive order that 0bola created (illegally) to exempt Senate and House Congresscritters and their staff from 0boladoesn’tcare. When THEY are forced to go on 0boladoesn’tcare just like us saps, they will climb all over each other to repeal it immediately!
I am talking about reality, not fantasy.
You note I said tax deductions.
More people buying health insurance would lower the cost, not raise it, if there is competition between companies.
Economics 101.
“Yea, right. I am talking about reality, not fantasy.”
Correct. Our ‘free-market’ system is distorted by tax loopholes.
Of course those tax deductions for electric cars force those companies to lower their prices ... DUH ....
