simple two-page document, an Alabama congressman has filed a bill in the U.S. House of Representatives to repeal Obamacare.
Or, as it is stated in the bill, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
U.S. Rep. Mo Brooks, R-Huntsville, introduced the bill Friday.
"This Act may be cited as the 'Obamacare Repeal Act,'" the bill states.
And the bill uses just one sentence to do it.
"Effective as of Dec. 31, 2017, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is repealed, and the provisions of law amended or repealed by such Act are restored or revived as if such Act had not been enacted," the bill states.
And that's it - one sentence.

Yep, I’d call my Congressman and urge him to vote for this bill... except that he just introduced it. :D

MEMBER OF THE HOUSE FREEDOM CAUCUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ObamaCare is not helpful to job creation. One more entitlement was never a good idea, but Obama doubled down on socialism in every institution. Wall Street forgot to care about Americans and let him. They were busy casting their eyes on whole continents and global unions, and “North American Community” thinking.
Let them eat cake meant “us”. We foot the bill for Obamacare. We’re overburdened with it, as employers as well as working middle class.
Jobs have languished. Until Trump.
“there was a whole (huge) section of the GOP who has been very busy for the entire last generation, shipping what used to be the best manufacturing base on the planet, to China.”
There’s a good point, the GOPe pretty well sold us out. I think we can agree on that.
“expend political capital right now. Bringing back JOBS.”
There’s a case to be made right there makes pretty good sense.
That said I don’t see why we cannot walk and chew gum simultaneously. You’re absolutely right about expending the political capital in the right sequence. And I too feel betrayed by the GOPe who’s been selling us out for decades now. I do think that there’s a lot of political capital being wasted on the health care mess. But I think it’s largely a smoke screen, a red herring.
It Draws all of the media attention. Meanwhile the trump admin is defunding sanctuary cities, shutting down visas from countries where terrorists are coming in from, instituting innovation, cutting funding to the EPA, gathering estimates for the wall building, arresting aliens and deporting them. This is standard Trump strategy. He’s doing five things at the same time and the media can only focus on one thing at a time. The media cant freeze more than one target at a time. Alinsky breaks down here. Trump figured out the formula.
Personally, I like Mr Brooks bill. It’s elegant and comprehensible. The federal government has no business handing out health care benefits. It basically states that anything from the fruit of the Obama poison tree is hereby repealed.
Go Rep. Brooks!
He’s a personal fav.

Not at all. I am saying it is one of many factors increasing manufacturing costs in the US.
Now, in your stupid Trojan horse defense of Obamacare you attempted to toss out the whopper that if Trump was honoring his campaign pledge to repeal that beast then he wasn’t working on jobs.
Trump signed four executive orders in the past few days war easing restrictions the Obama administration placed on energy. This will reduce the cost of energy and make manufacturing more competitive in the US. Trump has also been working on plans to ease liability costs. Insurance has become the single biggest cost vector in American manufacturing.
Are you so stupid as to not understand how all this works, or are you the communist troll other posters were accusing you of being earlier?
There isn’t a third option. And too many posters on this forum have manufacturing experience for the BS you are throwing against the wall to stick.
There is no either/or here.
“Thank you! Please make this man Speaker as well.”
But horrors! Brooks is a member of the Freedom Caucus! So this move must be really bad for some reason, I just haven’t figured out how.
Let’s all wish him, and his new bill all the best. It’s just how it should be.
I don’t have any problem with what the FC did.
I wanted the bill to pass, and stated so, but I cannot hold people wanting to keep their word that they ran in on contempt.
Assuming that is the true reason for their behavior, I gotta respect them.
I have a problem with the GOP as a whole for being unable to proceed, but I blame Ryan above anyone else for behaving as he did in this matter.
He is a pitiful Speaker. He has no successes ever to speak of. He is completely unqualified for that job, and the bill that he prepared was an insult as far as I am concerned.
That’s why Mo is the brains of the outfit.
Give Obama a victory and continue to fund PP. Go home Mo, you’re drunk.
Thank you Mo! You get my vote again. F’ck you Lying Ryan and RINO establishment. Get the federal govt out of health care!
BANG!
Someone gets it!
That’s an interesting take...
By the way, Mo doesn’t drink...
lol. Thanks.
