Rep. Dave Brat is my rep. Yesterday, he posted an article to his constituents on his Facebook page. There are a lot of rumors & "who shot John" accusations flying around, but here it is straight from a Freedom Caucus & Conservative mouth as to what happened. There are a lot of terrific comments in this article and it's well worth reading. Personally, Dave Brat speaks for me ...... it was a great day when Eric Cantor was deposed from his self-assumed throne & I am grateful every day for Dave Brat. So far he has acted in the best interests of those who have elected him instead of playing politics & he communicates well as to why he believes what he does and votes the way he does. He is also the only House member with a PhD in Economics so he has a good idea how "things" like market forces and government mandated programs work. The entire article is below.
Bernie Sanders already setting up single payer for when Obamacare fails. Trump thinks that would be a good thing for Republicans but when people who can’t afford health insurance are offered Medicare, that’s going to be king.

Are you kidding Lodi?.....you honestly thing there is such a thing?...This isn’t about Healthcare at all...it’s about gov. control of the vast revenues healthcare entities generate.
So Ryan pulled it right as the Freedom Caucus was getting it changed to something better for the American people?
My figures were from about 8 years ago. I wrote an editorial on it when Obamacare was being pushed.
My ex wife's cousin ran an optometry clinic and he had to carry a million dollar malpractice policy. High risk medical specialties, like obstetrics and cancer treatment facilities have to carry much more.
I don't know what the answer is, but it has to start by controlling costs.
Brat did say the following...
Obamacare wasn't being repealed. From Brat's statement, it sounds to me that there was so much wrong, that the HFC kept on bringing up more changes. I think Poe mistakes that for the HFC "moving the goal posts".
I would add, it's Poe who has voted for full repeal-only numerous times, and it is he who has moved the goal posts.

Hopefully, this will be done, and this repeal bill would be like St Patty in driving the snakes in congress out into the open.
There was no repeal. None. It was a slight bandaid. Would have tied huge increases to the Republicans. Terrible bill. Trump never should have endorsed it as it came from a sworn enemy. Ryan, if he intended for it to undo Obamacare, failed. He should have had the guidelines agreed to from the conservatives before we crafted it. The minor tweaks last week were essentially meaningless in getting rid of Obamacare. A new start is needed.
The only mistake I see Trump making is in allowing the House bill to be scheduled for debate then pulled without getting everyone’s vote on the record.
That was one torch, albeit a big one. However, you've got about 535 water hoses - give or take a few - at the other end of Pennsylvania Avenue, standing by ready to douse the flames.
Costs go through the roof when the government unconstitutionally mandates that everyone MUST be covered and must be covered for all kinds of crap they don’t need or want and regardless of preexisting conditions or whether they can pay for it or even if they are not citizens. Tyranny is expensive.
To our Republican Representatives:
Repeal 100% of Obamacare and replace with free enterprise/free market solutions per the U.S. Constitution!
Nothing else is acceptable or workable. Socialism, communism, fascism, central planning, etc, is totalitarianism and never works!! Our federal government and our constitutional republic was not designed to be and was never intended to be a welfare state! Our Constitution was designed to prevent all this TYRANNICAL crap!
We rebelled against a tyrannical king for a lot less than this!
No excuses. If the house or senate rules are obstacles to repeal with a simple majority vote, then change the damned rules already! The constitution gives you the majority the power to do that.
We voted in Republican majorities and a Republican president specifically so you can do this, ON DAY ONE!
Just shut up the ridiculous whining, hand wringing and squabbling and quit trying to pass tyrannical unconstitutional bills and just get repeal DONE as is your constitutional DUTY!!
For crying out loud are you the elected representatives of the free citizens of a free market constitutional republic or are WE the captive subjects of a tyrannical USSR style communist government with a centrally planned economy?

There is NOTHING in our Constitution that says that Health Care is the Federal Governments job to give to us...
Therefore, GET THE HELL OUT OF OUR HEALTH CARE!!!
