Texas Republican Congressman Ted Poe has announced he is giving up membership in Hillarys Favorite Caucus over their unwillingness to support President Trump:
I have resigned from the House Freedom Caucus, Poe said in a statement. In order to deliver on the conservative agenda we have promised the American people for eight years, we must come together to find solutions to move this country forward. Saying no is easy, leading is hard, but that is what we were elected to do.
Leaving this caucus will allow me to be a more effective Member of Congress and advocate for the people of Texas. It is time to lead. Some only want to be the party of no & wouldve voted against the 10 commandments,
Congressman Poes exit from #NeverTrump leaves 29 remaining members.

The Freedom Caucus said that Ryan had “super-majority” (66%) support but he did not have the 80% support required for formal endorsement.
From the National Review: “House Freedom Caucus (HFC) members filed into the Capitol early on Wednesday morning. Theyd had a restless night, grappling with the quiet chaos unleashed by Paul Ryans announcement of a conditional bid for speaker. Ryans terms were steep, including weekends off, limited travel, and a scaled-back role in GOP campaigning and fundraising. But that morning, the Houses rightmost flank, the beating heart of the anti-establishment fervor gripping the Republican conference, had only one demand to confront: its formal endorsement. It wouldnt ultimately come, and it didnt ultimately matter. After a day that would end with concessions from both sides the HFC publicly announcing that Ryan had supermajority support from its members, even though he failed to clear the 80 percent required for a formal endorsement, and Ryan backing off his seemingly ironclad demand for such an endorsement to signal that the supermajority would do Ryan emerged all but guaranteed to be the next speaker of the House.”
You might consider making this your tagline.
If Ryan *isn’t* part of the FCs plan, then why arent they calling for his ouster?
Dont worry about Yosemitest. Hes been out of touch with sanity for a long time. Probably incurable.

Bol! Don’t tempt me—I just might do it. ;)
Bingo. Too many shallow thinkers here on FR. The whole system is a con game designed to keep everyone in power. Freedom Caucus claims conservative principles while at the same time voting for the very Speaker who will ensure they can’t enact their agenda. Conversely, the leadership allows them to spout off and keep the right wing purists engaged in the electorate who actually believe something will get done. All the while, everyone says they tried but nothing gets done.
Trump knows this, which is why he wanted a vote, to get everyone on record. If they voted in the affirmative, he claims a victory of a massive rollback of many of the worst parts of OCare. If the vote went down to defeat, he shows the complete ineffectiveness of Ryan and we perhaps (doubtful), get a new Speaker. Part of me thinks this was the desired goal, a set up of Ryan. If there was no vote, he just exposed them all for the frauds they are.
Angels27 is and always has been #NeverTrump.
He was on Armstrong and Getty Friday morning and they were talking about it
I’m shocked...shocked.
Not really. A post that negative all but screams Never-Trump. They’ve been coming out of the woodwork lately.
Okay. Thanks. Gotta admit I’m getting ornerier as time goes on as well. :D
I looked into his history and found he used that same post many times. Apparently it’s one of his favorites.
Very sad situation. I will keep fighting as long as Trump does, but dang, people just don’t want to face reality.
Ps, Proud USAF brat. My dad was a pilot. Retired in 82. Passed away 4 years ago. Exceptional father. Thanks for serving.
“Angels27 is and always has been #NeverTrump.”
If you say so.
It is true I never fully trusted Trump and had doubts all along. I supported Cruz until he imploded and showed a side I didn’t like.
But once Trump secured the nomination and won the election, I got behind him. Even warmed up to him a bit.
But even you gung ho Trumpers have to admit, Trump screwed us all by getting into bed with a slug like Paul Ryan and supported a bill that only repeals 0bamacare with a bill that is just as bad. Trump promised to get rid of the individual mandates, the penalties and support a plan that allows free market competition. Ryan care did none of that.
You can call me out as a #nevertrump guy, I really don’t care. It doesn’t change the fact Trump supported the kind of bill that went against his promises. And now he is attacking Conservatives.
For me, it feels like “Meet the new boss....same as the old boss.”
Hint: The GOP also controls the rules in both houses per the constitution. What would Harry Reid do?
President Trump did not elect lying Ryan to the Speaker’s position.. President Trump is dealing with the rubbish the voters elected. Lying Ryan sits third in line for president... and he has demonstrated that he serves a different master than his oath of office, protect and defend our Constitution. DO NOT lay on Trump the trash he has to deal with.. that is the voters fault.
Okay, that is a good post and really, what you said, is the only hope we have to hold on to, that Trump has a grand plan up his sleeve that exposes the corruption, lies and cons in DC and then gets the things done he said he’d do.
I admit I do tend at times to jump the gun and react before everything has played out, but it’s only because we have been screwed so many times by those who were “conservatives”.
I hold out hope, but it’s only by a thread.
Allen West.
The Speaker does not have to be a member of the House.
Well said. Thumbs up!
