He does not care what Edmond Burke, Adam Smith or Milton Friedman have to say on any matter whatsoever.
He is a pragmatist...what will work and what can be enacted.
He also believes strongly in the safety net and is very unlikely to reduce funding for those programs.
For better or worse.
Republicans in the House had a chance to align with him and get much of what they desire. They chose not to.
“He does not care what Edmond Burke, Adam Smith or Milton Friedman have to say on any matter whatsoever. “
And neither does about 85% of the electorate.
The problem with being a brick wall is he’ll start looking for a way around it.
Oh great! Let’s ALL become progressives.
I wish them all the luck in the world on that one. LOL.
“Oh great! Lets ALL become progressives.”
That is not something I would condone, even for strangers.
It’s a dangerous thing to be.
I’m just recognizing the political reality.
And 80% of that number have never heard of them!
If this is true, I will be the first to say and ban me, I don’t care, FU!
In fact, it was once consider traitorous in the Republican Party to support the Social Security program.
Now, all both parties talk about is how to save it.
Let us know how that works out for ya.
Oh please, this is a Reuters piece. Everyone appears to be finally falling for turning on Trump.
Recall when our President said one of his “faults” was he has a very long memory and sometimes cannot forgive (or words to that affect)?
The FC, in my opinion, crossed him and he will not forget it.
I would not want to be in their shoes.
This is apparently the liberal president we were warned against.
Alas.
Democrats only move taxes in one direction.
Said Reuters... so it must be true. /s
The MSM is the Country’s greatest threat.
We have a potus who is trying to take down the EPA tryrants. Something that would never have happened without him. His cabinet appointments are the stuff of dreams for the most part. We will not get this lucky again if we fail.
So now the GOPe is on our side.
Ryan is now on our side.
197 of the members of the House of Representatives are on our side.
Obamacare lite, is a plan we should have grasped with both hands.

Now the people we praised prior to this (the 40 Conservatives in the House), are our enemies.
They didn’t want this “very Conservative” bill. This was simply a NeverTrump move on their part.
The internet sites we praise most, are now a part of the dark side.
The Conservatives on this forum, most of which supported Trump, but didn’t want this wonderful bill are closet Leftists.
Jim Robinson has done dark side.
I have gone dark side.

Folks, this doesn’t make sense and you know it.
Who could reasonably buy into this, and yet those backed this bill had to come to this very conclusion.
This bill WAS NOT the best we can do. If we can’t do better than another government run health care plan, even if less obtrusive, what good is having the White House and majorities in both sides of Congress?
Folks wake up.
This can’t make sense to you. It just can’t!
Read the quotes in the article before you attack Reuters on this one.
Sounds like he wants a primary opponent. Trump needs to learn quickly what got him the nomination and the election. It was not moderates or democrats. It was conservatives and independents that lean that way.
Settle down FReepers. This is all pys-ops and Art of the Deal. Sheesh
You could probably find 20% of any random group of people who would support the Third Reich ... just to give you an idea about how politically suicidal it would have been for ANYONE -- including Trump -- to have his or her name attached to that Ryan bill.
