>>Yes, Earth Hour is symbolic, but its not trivial. <<
Yes, yes it is trivial. Every year on Earth Day I turn on every light in the house, crank up the AC and open all my doors.
And no, a country with a disbursed population smaller than several of our states can not do a damn thing since humans have nothing to do with it.
You crank up the AC.
I’m cranking up the heat.
I usually drive my 67 GTO on Earth Day. I start with a couple of burn-outs and take it around town for a fast bout of criminal behavior. There is nothing like the display of vintage Detroit muscle on Earth Day to piss off the environmentalist whacos. One of my friends has a blown big block 69 vette, he does the same thing.
Far better to set a stack of discarded tires on fire....
The smoke is wonderful and the fire reminds us of its power to consume./s
One day, many years from now, our Sun will cease providing us with warmth and light. Days will become grayer and grayer until black out. Long before, the days and nights will be unbearably cold. We think that freezing temperatures are uncomfortable, but the cold and the lack of light will end agriculture, the food supply we are used to, and all animal life will end.
These sad events will still be blamed on the Human species. Unbelievable?!!
