The White House tried very hard Friday to send a clear message that the success of President Donald Trumps tax and infrastructure agenda does not turn on the fate of the Obamacare replacement bill. House Speaker Paul Ryan, only minutes after pulling his health care bill, appeared to at least partially contradict that.
Yes. This does make tax reform more difficult, Ryan said. But it does not in any way make it impossible.
Even though Ryan went on to say the House would proceed with tax reform, he appeared to be far less optimistic than the two top Trump administration economic officials who spoke earlier on Friday. White House budget director Mick Mulvaney and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin both had essentially the same message Friday morning: plans for tax reform, job creation, trade deals, and infrastructure spending remain intact regardless of what happen to the health care bill.
Standing on the White House lawn Friday morning, Mulvaney told CNBC that President Trump decided to stop negotiating with lawmakers over the healthcare bill because he has other things he wants to do.
He wants to get tax reform done. He wants an infrastructure bill approved. Hes got other jobs programs moving through the White House, Mulvaney said.

Exactly what the Uniparty eunuchs have planned.
Ryancare failed because it was a bad piece of legislation that did nothing but pander to insurance companies at the expense of the voters. Thank goodness it failed. The person most responsible for this debacle deserves to be sacked and that person is Paul Ryan. If he was honorable he would just resign. But I am not holding my breath.
This guy has hubris to go out and say anything other than, “I have been a failure as a speaker. I resign”
You and Owen lost, dynoman.
There was no repeal or replace, just rearranging.
Sorry you did not get to rename Obamacare.
Ryan is nothing but a traitorous puke.
Ryan, a .00021% batter wants to give batting tips. Send him down to the minors.
Follow Sarah's advice...FIRE HIM!!!
No. Democrats will make tax reform very difficult. They will oppose Republicans every step of the way. They will not be in favor of anything the Republicans propose, even if it’s a damned good idea and benefits everyone. Even if Republicans were to give a million dollars to every m*slim, black, trans”gendered” or Spanish-speaking person and put every White in jail, the dems would still oppose it.
There will be no cooperation from the dems, at all.
More likely, it is RINO’s who will make tax reform harder.
Maybe the leaders should have allowed others to help write thr bill.
Make repealing Obamacare part of tax reform.
You mean the swamp-critters.

What. He understands it perfectly. You get everything you want. We get our cut of the take.
It's perfect.
This man is the personification of what is a failure in leadership.
Agreed
So quit and let a real man take over
I suppose Trump could outsmart them at least on health care. Let Obamacare explode, give everyone waivers which would be easier to do when everyone is totally pissed off, and then facilitate the free market...at least what's left of it.
Can't help but think that health care first was a stoup to fail...it's so contentious and tricky anyway. Although I heard tax reform is somewhat dependent on getting health care fixed.

So TRUMP risked his reputation to support Ryan but Ryan still wants to push back?
That is the mark of the man. A worthless scoundrel.
Trump deserves this humiliation. When you let the Snake ( Ryan) in, you deserve the bite. Instead of taking on the GOPe
on, he made kissy kissy with them. Enjoy this defeat Donald, you asked for it.
