AHCA was pulled from the floor yet again this afternoon, and it now is probable that Obamacare will be the law of the land for years to come. This is an utter disaster for U.S. health care, not to mention individual liberty, and the responsibility rests squarely on shoulders of a small cadre of political opportunists with the effrontery to call themselves the House Freedom Caucus.
These people held out for the impossible full repeal of Obamacare in one fell swoop and have thus destroyed the only realistic opportunity their party will have in the near future to eradicate the laws individual and employer mandates, enact entitlement reform, expand HSAs, defund Planned Parenthood, halt the metastasis of Medicaid, and cut its myriad taxes.
Moreover, they have made a mockery of their groups name by perpetuating the increasingly oppressive and powerful administrative state, leaving their constituents to the tender mercies of Beltway bureaucrats whose contempt for the taxpayers who support them is exceeded only by the breathtaking incompetence with which they mismanage everything they touch.

The lazy and duplicitous repubs had eight years to plan for this moment. Instead, they try to put lipstick on a pig. These bums lied when they said they would repeal nobamacare. What’s new? Those who caused this “new” bill to die did a favor to society.
The simple fact here is Paul Ryan doesn’t know how to lead. The man is over his head and needs to be replaced by someone who knows how to bring a group together.
Louis Gomert hinted that the insurance lobby wrote this bill, and they were the ones who’d benefit.
“Remember when the dems said, you break it, you own it? Withdrawing the bill means that the dems STILL own obamacare.”
Well, don’t be so sure about that. There’s that little matter of the executive order that Trump signed that serves to de-fund a good portion of obamacare. As a result the Dems no longer completely own obamacare.
That’s very telling, isn’t it? Eric Cantor still has a lot of mourners here, I guess. LOL.
I don't want them replacing Obamacare with something equally as disasterous and then saying a few years down the road, that it was the best we could do.
LET Obamacare implode. The Dems own it.
Personally, I'm not interested in repeal and replace.
I just want repeal. Let's go back to a free market system.
Wrong....nothing has changed with 0Care.....still the same and the Dems still own it.
I just want repeal. Let's go back to a free market system.

I couldn't agree more, mountn man.
1. If you believe this B.S. About cutting 1.2 Trillion $, that you should work EXTRA hard to repeal Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare and any and all WELFARE programs.
2. If you are a Socialist/GOPe than you should be happy.
LIMITED Federal G'ment is what the Constitution is all about. Not Socialist/Communist Dictatorship
“They got rid of a bill the would have rewarded illegals and punished older Americans.”
This nonsense about punishing older Americans is a talking point that started with Nancy Pelosi. Older Americans will suffer under Obamacare as it exists now.
The death spiral won’t be kind to them. Younger healthy people are opting out and that will continue to drive up costs for those who stay.
The freedom caucus and the democrats have no intention of fixing anything and will just blame each other. Unfortunately, many people will die as a result of the high healthcare costs.
Theres that little matter of the executive order that Trump signed that serves to de-fund a good portion of obamacare.
Which EO is that....that ‘defunds a good portion of 0Care’?
My goodness but you have lost your mind, I believe you are on the wrong WEB site - Be gone to where you belong - DU you dummy
Ryan needs to go.
If this is the price we must pay to get rid of him, then so be it.
Obamacare will implode. When it does, it will be easy to gather the support we need to replace it with an actual free market solution.
We need Paul Ryan GONE before that day arrives. Otherwise whatever comes next will be just as bad as this bill was.
I think you misunderstand what was going on with the veterans credit. And the states would have been charged with verifying citizenship for medic-aid and getting recipients working instead of on medic-aid. I have nothing good to say about Mark NeverTrump Meadows so I’ll leave it at that.
here’s the thing on the veterans credit having to do with violating the Byrd Rule:
“Language was in the original legislation brought forth in the U.S. House of Representatives that would allow veterans to receive tax credits -———if they were not enrolled in TRICARE or the Veterans Administration-——, but the Byrd Rule, named after former West Virginia Democrat Sen. Robert Byrd, made it necessary for the House to remove the stipulation.
U.S. Rep. Mac Thornberry, R-Clarendon, said any provision in legislation that goes in front of the Senate during ———the reconciliation process must pass the Byrd Rule test,——— which was established in the 1980s to prevent extraneous items from being attached to the reconciliation process.
“The whole purpose of this first bill, remember, is to be able to pass it with 51 votes in the Senate,” he said. “So, if you have any provision that violates whatever those obscure rules are about what you can do and what you can’t do, then you have to take it out because it messes up the whole bill.”
Younger healthy people are opting out and that will continue to drive up costs for those who stay.
The penalties, for the young opting out, come up soon. This will NOT bode well, for the Dems.
Vets were going to lose their tax exemptions under RyanCare. That would’ve hurt US, not Dems.
The .09% surtax on income was kept in RyanCare and not indexed for inflation (meaning it would only rise)....so no difference on the ‘tax’, there. Dems still own that....vs us owning it, with RyanCare.
In the meantime, pass a clean and total repeal bill for ObamaCare. A simple one of less than a page should suffice.
Of course, it will be rejected by the Senate and probably time and time again. Fine. Gum up the joint with it until they are sick of seeing it. Pass and send them the same Bill each week if you have to. The pressure will eventually become unbearable as ObamaCare continues to implode! In the meantime, Dr. Price can continue to implement a lot of "Phase 2".
The Federal Leviathan has no business running a one-size-fits-all healthcare system in this country. That should be left up to the States and the people. It's bad enough the feds run and have messed up Medicare, Medicaid, and the VA.
Headline is a STUPID ANALOGY ...
“How is Obamacare saved? Phase Two is still operative. Trump can issue a waiver to EVERY AMERICAN to opt out. The Secretary of HHS can still make broad changes to the bill. Lets Do this!”
We need to hear from the White House exactly WHY this cannot be done Monday morning. Supposedly they want to get past this and get on to tax/regulatory reform, etc. - well, here’s a way.
The inauguration speech said in no uncertain terms that this day, power is transferring from Washington to the people.
Okay then, this is where the rubber meets the road.
Mark NeverTrump Meadows
Meadows has been a long time supporter of Pres Trump.
It was Boehner and Chaffetz who were antiMeadows, removing Meadows and two other conservatives from committee chair posts, for bucking Boehner with a NO vote, on trade.
Chaffetz quickly reinstated Meadows, after MUCH backlash.
Meadows is in line with Trump, on trade.
Maybe I’ve missed some info you may have, on Mark ‘NeverTrump’ Meadows.
