Disgusting: The Freedom Caucus Saves Obamacare Again
american spectator ^ | David Catron

Posted on 03/25/2017 5:33:48 AM PDT by RoosterRedux

AHCA was pulled from the floor yet again this afternoon, and it now is probable that Obamacare will be the law of the land for years to come. This is an utter disaster for U.S. health care, not to mention individual liberty, and the responsibility rests squarely on shoulders of a small cadre of political opportunists with the effrontery to call themselves the “House Freedom Caucus.”

These people held out for the impossible — full repeal of Obamacare in one fell swoop — and have thus destroyed the only realistic opportunity their party will have in the near future to eradicate the law’s individual and employer mandates, enact entitlement reform, expand HSAs, defund Planned Parenthood, halt the metastasis of Medicaid, and cut its myriad taxes.

Moreover, they have made a mockery of their group’s name by perpetuating the increasingly oppressive and powerful administrative state, leaving their constituents to the tender mercies of Beltway bureaucrats whose contempt for the taxpayers who support them is exceeded only by the breathtaking incompetence with which they mismanage everything they touch.

We’re in God’s hands now and we need his miraculous move to restore our glorious Free Constitutional Republic. I pray and believe he is doing just that.

God bless you and God bless America.

Get a grip, dude. Ryan’s bill left Obamacare in place, too.

American Spectator is way off base on this one.

Because they will never get 60 votes in Senate. They would just be the same old repeal bills that never had a chance of becoming law.

The Freedom Caucus will now not play a significant role in future legislation. Trump will find Democrats to get his infrastructure bill through and with that leverage his tax reform through. The conservatives have legitimized moderation in order to actually get something done. A really stupid play, and it was done the way we are all so familiar with, the party of no.

It made it to Obama’s desk. Why is it not possible to get the same bill to Trump’s desk?

Totally true. A bunch of spoiled brat egos saved Obamacare.... and irrevocably weakened the entire Trump presidency and agenda.

“Later” is when Obamacare explodes and the American people are suffering. This will hurt the GOP.

It is obvious that the bill that made it to Obama's desk through reconciliation was nothing more than a Republican PR stunt. We have made no progress except for the office of POTUS. And the "Freedom Caucus" has delivered their head shot to him. We are just back to do nothing while staging publicity stunts.

And I used to be a fan of "nothing" until I have seen an accumulation of a decade of that. It doesn't work and has the country on the brink. It is their fault.

And this is "impossible" why?

You just saw why. Literally yesterday.

“The Freedom Caucus will now not play a significant role in future legislation. Trump will find Democrats..”

Bingo.

The list of demands from the freedom caucus was included in the bill between Thursday and Friday and they still wouldn’t support it.

They will never be trusted again.

People saw this bill as a bait-and-switch.

You mean the same ole crap we've been used too for decades? When democRATS have power they beat us over the head with it. When republiCANTS have power they don't know what to do with it.

So sick of this shit. I'm done with them if they can't get tax reform passed. And I mean REAL tax reform, none of this down from 39% to 35% crap. If they screw us over on this they can expect to be wiped out completely in 2018.

And they will deserve every bit of it.

“Obamacare2” would have been terrible for Americans seeking insurance, it kept all the mandates and cut government spending applied toward it. That means much higher premiums for Americans, and eventual insolvency for “Ryancare”.
“EHB”(mandated birth control coverage, psych care, etc, etc.) was kept in, 26 year old “children” kept in, coverage mandate/30% premium penalty kept in, preexisting conditions kept in (not insurance, put them in a subsidized high-risk pool like states did before). This bill was not the promised “repeal”, just a re-worked (cheaper for the Feds) Obamacare. Deserved to die, thanks to the 40 conservatives who killed it, sad that we only have 40 conservatives left out of 240 GOPe/uniparty congresspeople.

“I also blame each one of you Freepers that insisted on defying Trump.”

If you see the posting below from a Freedom Caucus fan, you see what the real goal was...they could care less about Trump, Obamacare or the millions of Americans going broke on the plan, they just want the Heavenly Reverend Cruz elected president. They sold the rest of us out so the con man can run in 2020.

“We need about 200 more Freedom Caucus reps and 50 more Freedom Caucus senators vto get a pure bill through to President Cruz”

First, RyanCare was a turd. Phase II and III? BS.

Second, so 30 out of 535 elected officials in DC have all this power? BS.

Last, we cannot let the GOP off the hook again. Full repeal. Period. No games.

Classic liberal argument. The problem is that it’s government spending that drives up the costs. The law of supply and demand rings a bell?

Check the CBO report. Under the Ryan plan, spending was cut by 1.2 trillion and millions would drop out of the inssurrance market. Less demand = Lower price. Not rocket science.

What we have now is the death spiral and everyone is pushing it towards the abyss hoping to blame the other side. People will die.

Why do they need 60 Votes in the Senate?

Obamacare passed with a simple Majority.

Still don’t get the “Reconciliation” roadblock.

Talk about a Rigged System. It should harder to Pass a Law than to Repeal a Law, not the opposite.

My Congressman opposed the bill and he’s far from a Freedom Caucus member. He opposed it for one simple reason: ONLY 16% OF HIS CONSTITUENTS SUPPORTED IT.
