In contrast, now CSPAN is taking calls from little folk. Across the political spectrum, everyone's saying get the insurance companies out of it. They're the problem. It's beginning to seem that single payer is the only answer, with people being able to choose their provider and hospital.
So, people calling into CSPAN are saying they want single payer and to choose their provider too?
Is anyone calling them stupid?
This is the problem with healthcare...the American people. It’s time we were called out on it.
We want everything, all the bells and whistles...no compromises.
But we don’t want to pay what that costs.
It’s a sure case of collective insanity.
If you think single payer is going to solve all the problems I give you two examples of single payer in this country. Medicare and the VA. Both are horrible. Medicare does allow you to select your provider, however the deductibles and co pays have exploded and the allowed procedures has shrunk tremendously. For instance ones that affect me and my wife are no mammograms after 50 (maybe it is 60), no PSA, only half of what use to be normal in an ob-gyn is now allowed, etc., etc. We have lost about 30% of what used to be insured and at least double and in some instance triple the costs. My co pay for prostate has jumped from $10 to $50 in two years.
