The chairman of the House intelligence committee has backed down from his dramatic assertion that Donald Trump and his aides were "monitored," by U.S. spies — a claim the Republicans have cited this week in fundraising emails.
Rep. Devin Nunes told reporters Friday he can't be sure whether conversations among Trump or his aides were captured in the surveillance that has become a source of controversy since Nunes made it public in two news conferences this week.
"He said he'll have to get all the documents he requested from the (intelligence community) about this before he knows for sure," his spokesman, Jack Langer, said earlier.
Langer asserted that Nunes did not explicitly say Trump was spied on when he briefed reporters Wednesday that he was "very concerned," that "the intelligence community incidentally collected information about American citizens involved in the Trump transition."
As for Trump's assertion that Obama wiretapped him, Nunes repeated Friday what he has said previously, telling reporters, "That didn't happen."

The goods were supposed to come from people at the NSA. Unfortunately, Obama still controls the NSA... Rodgers is still the head of it... and he sat there Monday with Comey lying to all of us about this whole mess.
Why are the leakers at the NSA postponing the release? Either they have the goods or they don't. Is there a massive hunt within the NSA right now to find/eliminate the leakers? Is there a massive data purge going on at the NSA now to cover the trail?
This delay in handing over the goods makes me very nervous... smells like a bad omen to me. I hope I'm wrong.

Anyone in their right mind knows that wire tapping the ones running for office is a common thing and denying it is just as common, proving it is hard to do because in most cases the guilty ones are the ones who has all of the facility`s to do the investigating.
You are correct in that it is bad, and it is going to get worse. They are waging[if that is the correct term] a coup against President Trump. And unless he calls in the military to put it down, they will succeed. He cannot depend on or use the FBI, CIA, or NSA because obama and Hillary Clinton own them lock, stock , and barrel head. He is going to have to get them. Or they will get him. And after they get him, they will come after those who voted for and supported him like a bat out of hell.
Waiting until Tuesday gives the perps time to wipe their tracks and threaten more people, ya think??

His story has shifted from "I have the goods and will share them Friday" to "I hope Obama's people will give me the goods next week and then I'll share them with some of the main suspects... Comey/Roders/Dems".
Maybe Nunez discovered his source was unreliable.
Nothing will happen to him if he comes back next week and says "Oops, sorry... I was mistaken. Never mind. Now, let's get back to the real work of investigating Trump's ties to Putin".

Thanks to Paul Manafort’s “Volunteering ( which he wouldn’t do with first asking Trump) RUSSIA! is now tonight’s headline.
Trump gave it a darned good shot, but sadly he'll now be removed from office... probably Pence too, so Ryan can finally get what he wants... the presidency. He'll team up with the Bush/Clinton/Obama clan and the end of the USA as we know it will proceed as scheduled.
I am unable to place full concentration on the press conference, but what I got from it:
1. Trump was not wiretapped.
2. Trump was not surveilled.
3. The surveillance of Trump was legal.
4. Nunes was disturbed that some names were unmasked in some legal surveillance of Trump and his transition team that did not occur.
5. The entirely legal surveillance that did not occur had nothing to do with Russia.
6. Tuesday, Comey and Rodgers will testify in closed session regarding whatever the hell they were up to. But it was entirely legal.
It will never happen.
