Perhaps he’s been sold a bill of goods by Ryan. Ryan may have told him there’s only so much you can do, or this is the way to go not really planning on ever achieving what we want.
There is one aspect of the new plan that frustrates me, and I believe it reveals some problems in perceptions.
They have evidently eliminated the IRS fine for not having a policy. It seems that they have instead moved to a premium penalty of 30%, if you haven’t been carrying insurance for a while.
This seems to me to be moving deck chairs on the Titanic, so to say. It doesn’t reflect a true move away from Obamacare in the sense of government not forcing us to do things.
That seems like a tip-off to me, that we’re not headed in the right direction.
There are other problems as well.
Look, we can only make assumptions based off what we can learn about it. Will it change? Will we be happier than we think with the end product? Maybe. Maybe not.
We’ll see how it goes.
