The Prime Minister has said the “Islamist” attack on Parliament was not “Islamic” and Islam is a “great faith”.
Taking on the role of a theologian, Theresa May insisted: “It is wrong to describe this as Islamic terrorism. It is Islamist terrorism. It is a perversion of a great faith.”
Speaking in Parliament, she also said the attack showed “the importance of all of our faiths working together, and recognising the values that we share”.
Adding: “This act of terror was not an act of faith. It was a perversion; a warped ideology, which leads to an act of terrorism like that and it will not prevail.”
Islamism is generally defined as a political interpretation of Islam. Some critics argue Islam is intrinsically political – as the Quran mandates a religious state and law – and say the term is irrelevant.
MPs almost unanimously agreed with the Prime Minister, lining up to warn against “demonising” and “stigmatising” Muslims, and to condemn “Islamophobia” and “racial and religious” discrimination.
Khalid Mahmood, the Labour MP for Birmingham Perry Barr, said the attacker or attackers “pretend to be of a particular religion”.
“If they were of a religion they would not be carrying out acts like this,” he added.

The accountability lies with practitioners of that religion to control the percentage of their community that is responsible for terrorism. They almost never speak up in defense of the innocent victims.
Said differently: It is not up to Theresa May to tell us that a peaceful religion is being perverted. They are not the concern here, the aggrieved party is innocent people being terrorized and/or killed. It is incumbent on those within that religion to do whatever is necessary to protect their reputation, if they care to. Truly, if they were in this fight against terrorism, we would see tangible evidence of it.

It’s the “Religion OF PEACE” after all...
They do nothing but bring peace, everywhere they go.
Peace and Harmony. And probably love too.
For the sake of argument, say it is a perversion of a great religion. Just saying that solves nothing. People are still dead and their families will suffer for the rest of their lives. The questions that need to be answered are, why is only this religion and not any of the other major religions so problematic? When, and how did this “perversion” start, who started it, how does it infect others to believe in it, how can it be stopped? Why is there less interest in “solving” this “perversion” than in making sure Islam is not offended? Maybe the good kind, if there be such, should take steps to distance from the perversion, change their name, etc.
There is an anti-rational root as shown in symbolic beheading - cutting off that part of a person where reason and mind are believed to exist. And now, all these so-called leaders have been “decapitated”, they have lost their heads and ability to think and reason. Horror and randomness contributed to their inability to see what is happining to them.
If someone perverted Presbyterianism in this way I gather you’d see a whole lot of angry Presbyterians out there objecting and protesting that these people don’t represent them.
Where are all the objecting Muslims? Always eerily quiet there.

No. Islam is not a “great” faith at all. “Great” faiths build things, help people, advance civilization.
Indeed, Islam shouldn’t be looked at as a religion. It’s more like a cult, similar to scientology. Even though they’re completely different entities they share important commonalities. They cannot tolerate criticism or ridicule. Scientology reacts with threats of litigation, Islam reacts with violence. They cannot tolerate apostasy. Scientology reacts with harassment and character assassination, as ex scieno Leah Remini learned the hard way. Islam reacts with violence as untold millions learned the hard way. And they both need to disguise themselves as religions in order to conceal their true agendas. Scientology, in the guise of a religion is nothing more than an elaborate scam devised by L Ron Hubbard, a 4th rate sci fi writer and low level con artist whose primary objective was to separate the rich and famous from as much of their $$$ as possible. Islam in the guise of a religion is an absolutist, tyrannical, intolerant, racist, misogynist militaristic/political/social order devised by Muhammad, a hashish abusing child molester whose primary objective was to rule the world by any means necessary.
