The Republican-backed bill that would overhaul the Affordable Care Act would shift billions of dollars in health care costs from the federal government to states, with California on the hook for $6 billion in 2020 and growing to $24.3 billion by 2027, according to an analysis released Wednesday by Gov. Jerry Brown’s administration.

Every state will lose Medicaid funding regardless of whether they expanded it under Obamacare or not. So every state will have to make their own choice: pick up the funding that the federal government costs, expel people from their Medicaid program, come up with alternate solutions that minimize the impact as much as possible, or a combination of all three.

Sorry, I don’t give a tinkers damn what happen to Kalifornia.

But this $h!tshow of a GOPe healthcare bill is a steaming pile. The uniparty just wants to keep the bureaucracy alive and kicking, that’s all. Just want the power, screw everyone else.

They want to pass something/anything and call it a win.
I disagree if what gets passed is worse than what we have and the GOP hangs it around Trump’s neck.
I think it was Ryan’s plan to preserve the federal agencies and control that Obamacare gives Fedzilla.

What I don’t get is the yuge support around here for getting it done even if it’s not a good bill and changing it later.

Change it later?!?! For the better?

When does that EVER happen in Washington?

It doesn’t. Get it right the first time with full repeal and then work on the replacement if they feel it necessary.
Ryancare is just an attempt to fix Obamacare.

Somebody called folks like you and I “purists” yesterday and said that we are in the minority.

Yeah, God forbid being a “purist” conservative when you have the house, senate and Presidency!

Seems like a damn good time to be a “Purist”

To the states - why in the Hell did you expand Medicaid on Obama’s promises in the first place? You knew that the federal largess for the expansion was temporary, Obamacare said so, and it would only be possible to be continued if the stupid congress critters could be convinced later on to make the temporary hike in the federal portion permanent. Well, you made your beds now lie in them, and lie we know you’ll do - it’s “Trumps fault” not your own.
