I am thinking Trump can now force Comey out as in..... Your FIRED
Looks like a case of giving him a long lead and letting Congress tighten the grip. As has been said, “Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive.”
I think this is it: Trump can’t just fire Comey. He needs cause. This is it.
Comey has a few choices with the way this is going:
1) come clean
2) lie and get deeper in it, leak more for more leverage
3) resign
4) announce Trump is innocent, arrest a few leakers and get back business as usual
I am guessing he will choose the latter most option within the next week or two. What is unknown is what Obama and Lynch have on Comey, as he could be under duress.
My opinion: it is not enough to fire him. It leaves Mr Trump open to the charge of covering up, no matter how clear the malfeasance of Comey. Best case is to trap him in perjury (already done, IMO), and announce an independent prosecutor to investigate his activities. Pretty soon, he resigns under a cloud in order to save his own skin. Meanwhile, if the prosecutor is serious, part of the swamp gets drained.
