Speaking to reporters on Capitol Hill Wednesday, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes revealed a number of American citizens who worked on the Trump transition team were monitored, surveilled and unmasked by the intelligence community during the previous Obama administration. Although the monitoring was legal, it was certainly inappropriate. Information collected on these individuals was then widely disseminated, despite being irrelevant to ongoing investigations into Russia.

Nunes revelation comes three weeks after President Trump claimed President Obama wiretapped Trump Tower. There hasn't been any evidence of wiretapping, but the White House argues Trump was referring to overall surveillance of his campaign, not specifically wiretapping. Nunes will brief President Trump about his findings this afternoon.
I believe FBI Directors are appointed to ten year terms, and are not subject to easy dismissal by presidents.
That may, or may not be written in stone, as I've read recently that Bill Clinton 'fired' an FBI Director in his first term.
The FBI Director is not “tenured”. He can be fired by the President, at will, with no reason given (as with Clinton).
When the time is right, I believe he will be fired. My fantasy is that Comey will also be indicted.
But according to a 2014 report by the Congressional Research Service, there are no statutory conditions on the Presidents authority to remove the FBI Director. In other words, the President can indeed fire the FBI director. An FBI director can also be removed by congress, through the impeachment process.
Thank you. I wasn't entirely sure, which is why I mentioned that Bill Clinton fired an FBI Director.
I fully agree with you on Judge Napalitano. He’s being scapegoated somehow, and it stinks to high heaven. I hope he’ll be vindicated and only agree to come back on air with a big fat salary increase.
William Sessions was already accused of improperly using government resources by AG Barr during the Bush I Administration.
The left is so far gone they don’t even know when they’re breaking the law. America should never trust their judgement.
It was even called ‘incidental’.
Then why the unmasking of names? If run of the mill, incidental surveillance, then why unmask names when the rule is to minimize?.
EVERYONE, starting with 0bama, ought to bow to and apologise to Trump and his team
Thanks!!
Weasel phrases like that make me want to just throttle a gubmint drone.
I meant the comment that, Triple, made. But, you have also identified a very plausible aspect in this whole charade. Their stories and hypotheses continue to get shut down and/or proven false, so they have to keep coming up with more and more stuff.
Maybe that is Trump’s plan, let them keep on doing til they run out of excuses and lies, then demolish them all at once. I hope so.
Yes, you know my stance on public health and sanitary conditions.
Everything you need to know about phone taps. Posted by Vendome.
There is absolutely law that authorizes every method of gathering communications, we have arrived here through legislation. The only apparent crime was the unmasking of private citizens.
Does that make him an enema of the state?
Monitored By Intel Community Under Obama?
Who does the ‘Intel Community’ consist of?
16 agencies, iirc
